I'm hanging on to this pattern because it was love at first sight. I came to the conclusion I would do it in the same colors that they show because I think that is what appealed to me in the first place.

Love the color cause it shows all the detail. You've inspired me once again to make a pair for my GD but to tell the truth I just might want to keep them for me. The pattern calls for bulky yarn so I'm assuming you doubled up on the worsted weight yarn or whatever you needed to do to get gauge. I may try red heart fisherman wool. I can't decide if I want to be bothered with all the drama steps of washing and drying wool.
