1  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: is there a difference between a granny and a babette square? on: February 18, 2011 06:29:19 AM
Go to this website blog http://www.alaskanpurl.com/p/designs.html then go to the right column and scroll down to Free Patterns and click on Granny's a Square pattern.  Not identical to babette BUT has three different size squares and is beautiful.

I'm hanging on to this pattern because it was love at first sight.  I came to the conclusion I would do it in the same colors that they show because I think that is what appealed to me in the first place.

Truly AMAZING! I couldn't hit the THIS ROCKS button fast enough.  I would put this into an ART category. I can't wait to see what you would do with the White Rabbit theme!

Love the color cause it shows all the detail.  You've inspired me once again to make a pair for my GD but to tell the truth I just might want to keep them for me.  The pattern calls for bulky yarn so I'm assuming you doubled up on the worsted weight yarn or whatever you needed to do to get gauge.  I may try red heart fisherman wool.  I can't decide if I want to be bothered with all the drama steps of washing and drying wool.
