1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Cute Jumper Dress? on: February 02, 2008 11:21:44 AM
Hi! I'm a newbie at sewing, but I really want to learn.  Cheesy

I'm getting a sewing machine in about 2 days and I think that I want my first project to be a jumper dress. Sort of similar to this dress:

http://store.delias.com/item.do?categoryID=&itemID=47834&sizeFilter=&colorFilter=&brandFilter=

and this one:
http://store.delias.com/item.do?categoryID=&itemID=48208&sizeFilter=&colorFilter=&brandFilter=

i found the perfect pattern to make this dress at simplicity.com, but it cost $10, and I don't hav a credit card, hehe.  Wink

I think that i want the material to be sort of thick but sturdy, and easy to work with. For the color, I'm either going to pick royal blue, light orange, or grey houndstooth. So u guys hav any ideas on how i should start? I know that this may seem a bit hard for a beginner, but I'm up for it Cheesy (it's just for fun anyways)

thanks for reading this! I really appreciate the help!

and if some one posts instructions on how to make this dress, I will be the most grateful person in the world!

Thanks again!
