1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Simple notecards on: July 19, 2012 07:50:02 PM
My penpal in Massachusetts always writes to me on cute little notecards, and I always write to her on pages torn out of a steno pad.  One day I said, "Enough!" and marched over to the local shops to buy myself some cute little notecards.  NOPE.  They come in tiny little boxes that are madly overpriced and most of the time they're all identical.  I don't want to send the same notecards over and over again!

So for about the same price as two boxes of 12 notecards, I bought a pack of cardstock that will make at least a hundred cards and 72 colored pencils, and pretended to have drawing skills.  These are what I've come up with so far.

A pansy that I sketched from the wikipedia article on pansies.

Wild roses, the state flower of Iowa, that I sketched from a scan of a postcard I sent to the Netherlands for Postcrossing.

These particular cards are going in swap packages, so I don't need to worry about envelopes yet.  Can envelopes be handmade?
2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Magic Attic Club Dolls? on: November 14, 2008 06:58:55 AM
I have a Magic Attic Club doll kicking around in storage, and recently I've been craving adding to her (sparse) wardrobe, but have lacked inspiration on what to make.  I'm playing around with knitting her a miniature Lace Leaf Pullover from Teva Durham's "Loop D Loop," and I was wondering if anyone else has one of these dolls and any ideas on making clothes for them?

They're 18" dolls like American Girl, but with a slimmer, fully-vinyl body.
