41  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Postcard Swap Round 7 (sign-ups 02/07/2009-02/21/2009; send by 03/07/2009) on: February 10, 2009 11:04:49 AM
He's got one from Texas though, although Texas isn't really exciting so I'd love international partners

I'm not too sure if I am going to join this but just in case I am, would you be interested in postcards from Malaysia? (aka the other end of the world)
oh my goodness! yes!

I have a couple of questions. Do most of you prefer handmade postcards or storebought. I would figure handmade but I started seeing the appeal of both and was curious.

and two, I have never sent a postcard to another country, so how does that work? Do you put a crap load of stamps on it, or treat it like a package?

I have a feeling many of you are making WTF faces at your computer screen at that 2nd question lol

I normally send the postcards as is with a stamp and a little note. Usually I send storebought cards. I sent a homemade one in a swap a long time ago, but really prefer sending storebought. When I did it thought the front of it had an embroidery design. As for a different country I go to the post office and they add an air mail stamp to them since you can't use regular stamps. I hope that helps you some.

whisp3rd I'd love a postcard from Malaysia! I'm trying to expand my collection with different countries and other places outside of the states. Although my collection consists of state and country postcards.

If anyone is interested in a personal swap just send me a message! Smiley I'm so excited to be doing this swap again because it's so much fun getting postcards from around the world.

Also, did I miss it on the survey or do we have a choice of sending postcards to multiple people? If so I'd like to trade with several people in the swap if possible. Smiley

pinokeeo the handmade journal is just adorable! I love all the creative ideas from this swap. I loved my found atc I just wish the ants would've shown up a little better in the photo. It would be cool to do a shorter list for next time of this swap though. Again I really loved this swap. Smiley

I think it's so funny I got a package from someone within the same state as me.  Smiley

I love the new atc for my collection. It's so adorable!

I think this stuff will work for letters and my cool crafting ideas.

Look at my array of stamps! I looked where each one came from and I was amazed.

The paper is used to be her mom's from the 60s and 70s. It's for vintage! Smiley

I'm glad you enjoyed your package mcbenno. I'm glad you liked everything and now you have a start to an atc collection. Grin I can't wait to see whats in the package you sent me. All these packages are amazing looking at everyone's take on certain words.

Is any one else having a hard time finding a good balance between not sending way too much, but also sending a "good" package? Cheesy 1 small and 14 tinys seems like such a small pile, I want to add to it, but I don't want to over send Smiley any one else in the same boat?

I come across the same issue for almost every swap. Sometimes you just have to wing it because you can never predict what the other partner will send you.

I'm going shopping today to buy two things for my package. I have only five more on the list to work on. Will there be another swap like this in the future? This was actually really fun to do.

I'm going shopping today to get some things for my partner's package. I crafted two things so far for her package. I know I'll come up with some more. I know most are just needed items for any craftster. Roll Eyes

Penlowe, could you clarify for tyhe over 20 item if we're supposed to send over 20 of something (20 or so blank atcs) or something that is over 20( ex:$50 monopoly money)? I'm really lost with that since I've heard many different takes on it. Huh
