21  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Cute blue/ brown tote on: March 09, 2007 05:33:17 PM
Hi everyone...
I made this TOTE BAG for my friend. I came from work at 8 pm on Wednesday and just started to sew It took me a while. I think I was done around 1 am. It still need to put a magnetic snap, I went to 3 Jo Ann's and they didn't have it. I guess many people sew purses J
I used some aqua blue corduroy and brown upholstery fabric, the inside is  some blue fabric I had on hand.  Smiley and heavy interfacing.to keep it sturdy.  It turned out really great.  It stands up on its own with or without magazines in it. Here are the picures

Thanks for looking   Grin
22  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Pricing Help - opinions appreciated. I am beginner on: March 04, 2007 04:43:56 PM
Hi everyone!
I made a tote for my friends birthday and I really enjoyed doing it and   my husband thinks I am doing a pretty good job. Smiley
My friends and my family LOVED it and thought they were store-bought which got me thinking maybe I should sell some. I ask my brother to for help with web site for me, he is a graphic designer, so I am waiting for his ideas. But what do you think about my work?
I could probably start to sell on ebay  But how much I could charge for those totes or purses. I make them from upholstery fabric, lining and sew-in interfacing. I also make matching flowers to it.  I usually cost me around 6-10$ for supplies (tote) and 5-7$ for purses ( of course depends on fabric and lining) and it takes me at least 5 hours total to make one, maybe I will get faster but now  it is what it is  Grin
So tell me how much I can ask for them?
 Here are the pictures
