I received from fiddlegirl8 today, a whole day earlier than she anticipated! My jaw just about hit the ground when I opened the package. I was really blown away by her work. Not just the choice of fabrics or subject matter, but the QUALITY. Her enclosed note (with a map of her home state, Kansas! How cool!!) said her favorite craft was quilting, and I can *definitely* tell. I know the crafting community is pretty supportive and positive, but I don't GUSH without genuinely meaning it. And this? Gush-worthy. Seriously. See for yourselves.
How adorable is this pillow?! She told me the block is called "Dutchman's puzzle". DAMN she's a great quilter!
Another view so you can get a better look at the fabric she chose. So me!
Not to freak her out or anything, but one of the things I noticed right away was how perfect her stitching on the binded-edge envelope flap. I've never been able to get my binding that perfectly stitched. Damn, fiddlegirl8, you are GOOD!!
Not just husky approved, DOUBLE husky approved! That's when you know it's truly amazing.
Both HSG and fiddlegirl8 have exploded my brain and made this officially the most awesome swap ever. I only hope they'll enjoy the pillow covers I sent them half as much as I love theirs! Thank you, you guys. Really. This has been the worst couple of years ever, and having beautiful hand-made pillows I will look at every day make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Thank you more than you will ever know.
