1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Martha Stewart Pine Cone cookie/cake? on: December 06, 2005 09:12:45 PM
Do any of you have the recipe/instructions for the pine cone cookie/cake featured in last year's Martha Stewart holiday magazine?
2  COOKING / Dessert / Martha Stewart Pine Cone cookie/cake? on: December 06, 2005 09:09:52 PM
Hi,

I'm not sure if any of you can help, but I seem to remember a recipe for a cookie or cake decorated to look like a pine cone in a Martha Stewart holiday magazine.  Do any of you have the instructions/recipe and/or pictures of it?

Thanks.
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / A few Appliqued Onesies on: August 24, 2005 08:47:19 AM
I made a few onesies for a friends baby shower.

I'll start out with the one I'm least pleased with.  Actually the real thing looks better than the pic.  It was a plain white gerber onesie that I dyed orange and sewed fleece hearts on with contrasting thread.

A plain pink old navy onesie with some felt birds.

Another plain white gerber onesie dyed brown (I think it's impossible to find brown baby clothes) with fleece argyle applique.  This one's my favorite.  There's mini argyle on the sleeves too.

An old navy onesie with purple felt skull.

5  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Sewn Planner/Weight Loss Journal on: July 08, 2005 10:22:14 AM
I decided to put this here, but it just as well could have gone in sewing.
I made a planner, it's bit bigger than 1/4 of the page.  It's like a planner/weight loss journal/wallet.
On each set of pages one side has the date and a place to put things to do and the other side is a weight watchers style thing so I can write down what I eat that day.  Pretty convenient.  It's coptic bound with 6 signatures.  And cover sewn over some chipboard.  I gocco'd the tree things and embroidered the flowers.  It's my favorite.

6  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Our New Little House (Image Heavy) on: July 08, 2005 10:11:55 AM
My boyfriend and I were finally able to get this great place.  It's a small one bedroom, but still amazing.  Even has a washer and dryer.  Been spending the last few weeks doing the living room.  Still need to make or refurbish some type of desk for that little nook in the corner...

General view of the living room with couches, rug and hat rack (that we refinished and stained) all from good ol' craigslist:

A good look at the paint job and some projects:
We got a bunch of these wooden craft boxes at Michaels, they were about $1.50 each or something.  Stained them, drilled some holes in the back and added some buttons to a few of the "doors", now we have little display shelves...
Also in this pic are the curtains I sewed.  Used a suit looking cord fabric I found for $2.00/yd (sorry, i like bragging about deals) and used ties as the ties.  Love me the visual puns..

Closer look at the tie ties

The dining "room", not too much craftiness going on here, did score those chairs for $7 at a thrift store though, in surprisingly good condition.

An amazing tree my boyfriend painted.  I thought neither of us had any drawing skills, we were going to stencil or trace or something, but he said "I'll try to freehand it and see what happens..."  Got cheap canvasses at Big Lots, believe it or not, spray painted them brown and he went to work...

Lots of other things (and the bedroom) to work on, but this is what we got for now.  I love it!
7  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / "Embroidered" Broken Heart on: January 05, 2005 08:49:06 AM
I've never really embroidered before and don't even know how to do any proper stitches.  Frankly, I'm not even sure if this qualifies as embroidery (hence, the quotation marks).  The heart and scissors were done by my boyfriend, now I wish i had done the scissors with thinner thread like I did the words.  The words were the most time consuming, but I think for a first job, it's actually fairly legible.  It was a gift for his little sister.  Hope you like...
8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Polymer Clay Poker Chips on: November 23, 2004 10:12:07 PM
I'm planning on making a set of polymer clay poker chips.  I'm gonna make a cane and make them for my boyfriend's sister.  I want to make a set of about fifty.  I'm just wondering, about how much clay am I gonna need to do that.  I'm very much a novice at polymer clay and any help would be great.
9  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Sushi Mat Bag with sushi and chopsticks on: September 09, 2004 01:09:49 PM
Here's one of my first few purses.  I used to sushi mats and attatched them together at the bottom, since just one would have been really small, and I  attatched the handles to the sushi mat, not to the purse.  Also, the coin purse, well, let's just say i have a lot to learn when it comes to zippers.  geez. Well, I hope you like it!

It would be a fun part of craftster, well all parts are fun...you know what i mean.  I know I could have a quite a few posts with projects that didn't turn out quite how I expected.  Plus people could give tips on what could have helped.
