I live in Long Beach, and it always seems easier to drive to most places in Orange county than to LA.  I'd be interested in starting something up.  There are a couple of knitting groups around here, and while I enjoy knitting, it's not my absolute favorite.  I'd love it if more people were interested.

Those are fantastic!  Very modern and not too "wedding-y" either.

That's really clever and totally rental friendly (even though total rebelled against my lease and painted my living room yellow).  Good idea!

That's gotta be the cutest/most practical thing I've seen those beads used for in a long time.  Fantastic job!
5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Martha Stewart Pine Cone cookie/cake? on: December 06, 2005 09:12:45 PM
Do any of you have the recipe/instructions for the pine cone cookie/cake featured in last year's Martha Stewart holiday magazine?
6  COOKING / Dessert / Martha Stewart Pine Cone cookie/cake? on: December 06, 2005 09:09:52 PM
Hi,

I'm not sure if any of you can help, but I seem to remember a recipe for a cookie or cake decorated to look like a pine cone in a Martha Stewart holiday magazine.  Do any of you have the instructions/recipe and/or pictures of it?

Thanks.

That is simply amazing.  Perfect embroidery!  And I don't know if the photo was supposed to look faded like that, but I think it looks fantastic like that.  What a great gift!
8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / A few Appliqued Onesies on: August 24, 2005 08:47:19 AM
I made a few onesies for a friends baby shower.

I'll start out with the one I'm least pleased with.  Actually the real thing looks better than the pic.  It was a plain white gerber onesie that I dyed orange and sewed fleece hearts on with contrasting thread.

A plain pink old navy onesie with some felt birds.

Another plain white gerber onesie dyed brown (I think it's impossible to find brown baby clothes) with fleece argyle applique.  This one's my favorite.  There's mini argyle on the sleeves too.

An old navy onesie with purple felt skull.

haha.  Sexy grandpa!  Thanks guys.  The couches were from a guy who was closing a furniture store, so we had to assemble them.  Not bad though.

That is fantastic!  So now, someone's gotta ask, might as well be me, how was it done?
