This is dd4's Chrstmas dress.  After the past years' only worn once or twice dresses, I decided this year I was using a print that she could wear at least through January too.  The skirt is strip twirl skirt & the bodice is from a Simplicity pattern.  It was supposed to have a LONG-SLEEVED peasant top under it, but she was asleep when I made it & well, the only measurement I had for her arm was shoulder to elbow.  I like it, but I may end up making a long-sleeved top too.

When I started this it was a simple patchwork skirt for dd to wear with her cowgirl boots (she will correct you if you say cowboy).  Then it turned into a whole outfit. 

I took a pair of her old corduroy pants & cut them off short length & added the skirt to the now shorts.



Excuse her dorky face, she really just wanted to twirl.






And, oh yes, did I mention?  It twirls!

DD's birthday is Wednesday so Saturday we had her party.  She decided she wanted a Cinderella party so, of course, I had to make her a dress.  Then her royal highness was cranky at the beginning of the party & refused to let me put her hair up or wear the headband or necklace.  I was afraid she was going to refuse to wear the dress for a while. 

Anyway, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.  The petticoat never did poof quite as much as I wanted it to (& I think it's a little big in the waist - don't know how I missed that), but overall pretty good, especially since I pretty much made up the pattern as I went.





Last one I promise, I just have to show off the topsy-turvy doll I made her.

I seem to have a Mickey thing at the moment.  Good thing the kitten doesn't mind.

I found some cute Mickey fabric & decided to try a tutu skirt for my twirly-girly dd.  I'm not entirely happy with how it turned out, but she likes it.





After I made this one, I decided that baby dd might as well have one too.



I would like to thank the person who posted the link to the Disney thread.  My checkbook doesn't thank you, but my daughter & I do.   

When you find an unopened set of mod, flower-printed pillowcases at the flea market, there's only one thing to do with them...girly dresses.  
But regular pillowcase dresses just won't do, so here's what I came up with:



To the little angel, it's just a dress.  My 3 yr old was asking to wear it 'tomorrow' when I had only the side seams sewn & it was nearly 8.  Of course, Mommy worked until they were done & then washed & dried them to get rid of the odd smell of old make-up just so she could, indeed, wear it 'tomorrow'.

I finally found a shirt I wanted to use, but it was a men's XXL.  Oh well, my angel got a cute dress & a cute top with matching capris.
