1  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects / Re: Anyone starting their summer garden yet? on: March 14, 2013 02:46:34 PM
I actually had my first tomato seedlings come up yesterday so I quickly put together my plant shelf and plugged in one of my lights. I need to sow another batch of tomato seeds tonight. I have five new to me heirloom varieties started and need to start another 4 varieties that I grew last year.

Wee!!! I have received my stocking from Murbeck!!!

She filled one of my biggest wishes, a knit hat!!! I now have a warm head and I think I shall declare it as my new hunting hat.

Onto the pictures:
The hat!!!

Everything all together: painted t-shirt with Honda wings on the back for my motorcycle, ba-bomb, mario star earrings, a crochet beaded necklace, painted dr seuss quote, warm knit hat with ears, big mug with a 'J', the first harry potter book, iron on transfers, cool christmas scissors, Mario bandaids for when I'm clumsy and a cooked corn treat I will try when my boyfriend gets home from his truck run.

And the stocking is HUGE!! about two feet tall and has a lovely tree quilted in.

Thanks Murbeck for everything!!!

Everything looks REALLY AWESOME!!! There's some great look being posted. Many many beautiful stocking and an amazing variety of items from everyone.

Sorry for being so quiet. Work has been pretty crazy with a huge projet wrapping up this week after over a year of work by many. I can't wait for christmas vacation in just over a week even if my first day off I receive my boyfriend's family for supper... after that things should wind down.

Mine is sent out, and has even managed to change countries based on tracking.... shouldn't be too long now Smiley

I am very late checking in, apologies to all. I have kept in touch with my partner though.

Crafting along. Now that I am getting near my sendout, i'll be able to start working on the time-critical items Smiley

Lots going on with work being super busy and getting a new car has kept me really quiet.

I am alive and well and plugging away. Busy busy at work.

Project of the week... so far not super happy with it, but going to try adding some ___ to see if I can make it pop more. Lots of bits and pieces coming together.

Checking in!

I love running errands and running into some neat stocking stuffers to add Smiley

Most of my non-work time this week will be occupied with getting ready for a craft show this sunday.... I hate packaging so I keep putting it off until I don't have a choice but to get it done.

Stay safe everyone that's in the path of the storm.
8  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Re: 2nd batch of homemade soap.....and some queries on: October 20, 2012 06:53:05 AM
Nice soap! Looks good for a second batch Smiley

As to the 'curdling' of the top section, it is probably due to the fragrance, some just don't behave. Some fragrances don't do anything funny, and others turn your soap solid within seconds of mixing in and others do a curdling effect.

For the crumbly, we'd need to know a bit more about your recipe and what superfat you used. Only time I've had crumbly was because of bad mixing and the bottom half of the loaf was lye heavy (did something weird with my lye water and then bad mixing combined).

Checking in from my hotel room 8 hours away from home. I've not had a great deal of crafting time what with work and a nasty cold that's been with me for a week. I would be perfectly happy not coughing for the rest of my life as I've done more than my share of that in the last week.

Quite unexpectedly, there's a fabricville store nearby, so I swung by and picked up two fabrics which should be used in my stocking as they were the two bits that weren't already in my stash. I've also got some sketching done for a _____ to put on _____.

Checking in. I already know what some of the bought stuff with be, and a few more things on my to make list. Been keeping in contact with my partner with some neat 'random' questions to get to know eachother.

On friday, I was told that I was working out of town for 2 weeks, I leave tomorrow morning (my partner has already been told). I should have internet access at the hotel, but not guarantees. So if I don't check in until the 20th or so, that would be why, but I'll try to pop in beforehand. I am taking project bits with me so hopefully I'll be able to get a bit of work done at night at the hotel. Some of my projects just can't be packed up and taken on the go so they'll just have to wait on my return.
