1  Re: Christmas Stocking Swap Round 8 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by chibilightangel on: December 18, 2012 07:40:12 PM
Wee!!! I have received my stocking from Murbeck!!!

She filled one of my biggest wishes, a knit hat!!! I now have a warm head and I think I shall declare it as my new hunting hat.

Onto the pictures:
The hat!!!

Everything all together: painted t-shirt with Honda wings on the back for my motorcycle, ba-bomb, mario star earrings, a crochet beaded necklace, painted dr seuss quote, warm knit hat with ears, big mug with a 'J', the first harry potter book, iron on transfers, cool christmas scissors, Mario bandaids for when I'm clumsy and a cooked corn treat I will try when my boyfriend gets home from his truck run.

And the stocking is HUGE!! about two feet tall and has a lovely tree quilted in.

Thanks Murbeck for everything!!!

2  Re: Hand-Carved Stamp Swap--Round 4 GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by chibilightangel on: July 17, 2012 07:13:04 PM
I received my last stamp from sheeshakaye today. It's been carved on a large eraser so it has a nice weight to it. It's a combination ampersand and question mark which is really neat.

Thanks to all my partners for the great stamp loot!

I received some awesome loot from Elyxandra the other day. Sorry about posting late, been very busy and then when I took a picture and the camera batteries died, the picture was all blurry. Now all is fixed and here are the wonderful stamps!

A lovely celtic knot and celtic inspired border. Then pacman ghosts which will make great borders again. A mage sprite from final fantasy (mages rock in any party) and a lovely goldfish silhouette that will be great on letter paper.

I think that will all these lovely stamps I am getting I will have to sit down and make little swap notecards using my new swap stamps!!

WOOHOO!! I've recieved from two partners!! And extra goodness, there was battery left in my camera to take pictures!

From Wulf, a wonderful interpretation of my nature theme. I love love tree stamps and this one is beautiful and has a great mounting job too

And from Astrangeone, some great old school videogame stamps! That megaman is awesome and I can just hear the bubbleman stage theme in my head. She also included Ness from Earthbound (very dangerous when properly weilded in super smash bro). Along with the stamps, some cool punches guitar picks in neat colors.

5  Attempted swirl in a log mold in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by chibilightangel on: March 16, 2011 06:41:13 PM
This is my fifth batch of CP soap that I did over the weekend. I'm attempting the seemingly elusive swirl in a log mold. My honey and nut FO seems to want to discolor a fair bit... will just have to see what it looks like after curing.

ok, so here are the photo results of my first batch (olive oil, coconut oil and lard). It's been tongue tested and no zapping (though oddly doesn't taste like that purple soap gum I somewhat remember). It even makes some lather bubbles. I'm letting it sit out to harden before starting to use it.

In the oven and rising. The one that did most of the rising was actually filled less than the other mold. Could thickness of pour (and I mean by less instead of more) make the soap rise more??

The next day right before removing the freezer paper liner and cutting

This is what the side looked like on the soap that did all the rising.... kinda makes me think of a pocket in yeast bread

This is the first cut into the second loaf of soap. There's a small discoloration partway through (seems to go through the whole loaf) but overall much more bar-like look to it.

And finally the whole second loaf all cut up. Is that soda ash that formed on the top? When I run my fingers over it, it doesn't leave a residue or anything, most of it seems to be from the rising that both soaps did.

I received an amazing set of angel inchies from MunLtStmpr, along with beautiful papers for making more inchies and she remembered that I collect stamps so she sent a bunch my way. She's really amazing!!! On the closeup pic, the colors are a bit washed out as the backgrounds are much darker.

I recieved from Nataluna and Beckashell. I took the pics amost a week ago but have been terrible about posting them. Sorry to my wonderful partners for the delay.

I love the bright colors for the backgrounds and autopegado makes me laugh because it's a funny sounding word.

The dove wrapper (yummy chocolate) and the tea ones are my favorites.
