Sorry, I've been sick but I have gotten two great supply packages!
Atsuko sent me my first spindle and roving that is SO ME!
She also sent instructions! The postman ate the little hook from the top, but I'm gonna have some fun with this! No clue what this will turn out looking like, but it's gonna be used for something for me!
And then, I got the mother of all whimsy packages from the Queen of Whimsies herself, sheepblue! (What whimsy package ISN'T pic heavy, but still, you've been warned:)
It took me a couple of days to fully go through this, but when I couldn't breathe to sleep last night, I spread it all out. FIRST, BUTTONS!
So many beautiful buttons. And then all the whimsies.
I'm going to do the rest as thumbnails to save a bit of space. But I asked for hearts for Melissa's wedding whimsy canvas, and there was an impressive (and disturbing) amount of bugs, and some really beautiful charms that are gonna become jewelry soon.
There was also a second envelope of watercolor paper, but I put it away when I got it.
So then I just have to point this out. I threw this out to sheepblue that it's a little thing between the couple, their love for giraffes. I didn't really think there'd be a giraffe whimsy out there, but LOOK! I couldn't believe it!
Also there was a penny, and a foreign coin, which I set aside for my boyfriend. Sheepblue couldn't have possibly known this, but John loves coins. So he hopped online (after attacking me with the cockroach) and found out it was a "USSR ten koneek" and then he squirreled it away with the rest of his foreign money, and continued to attack me with the cockroach.
I received two great packages, so sorry I am just getting around to posting pics!
First up, from ChrisSews, embroidery thread and a bunch of patterns.
It's a whole rainbow of thread, and the picture doesn't do justice to the amount of patterns! It is a great haul!
Then from rlynn, I got cardstock and beads/jewelry findings:
So many absolutely beautiful beads, I had a great time going through everything! And she must have read my mind, there are these beautiful bronze/brass charms that are perfect for Melissa's weddings - the butterflies and such will go on the tables or on other things, and we're thinking the bird might become part of the necklace she wears!
Woo, those are some great packages! I love those hoops, and those rings are wowza!
I received a great package from DawnsTrees, my sister was so excited to see the great book paper flowers she made for her wedding!
She sent these tri-level flowers with different colors and centers, as well as some rounder, organic shaped ones, a bunch of stars, and then the three sizes of punched flowers singularly as well! They are perfect and awesome, thank you so much Tina!
So I just finished the RSVP postcards for my sister's wedding, and THIS is why I'm afraid I'm a hoarder. I went to throw away all the scraps I cut, and thought - maybe someone wants them? There's over 100 1.5" and over 100 .75" strips of some really pretty cardstock, I took this picture with the covers on the cardstock packs to show the designs...anyone interested? Or should I stop and just toss them?
Loving the stuff this round! My end of the month got a wee bit messed up - financial problems with my mom, and a crazy story that ends with my sister has been MARRIED FOR A YEAR AND A HALF and didn't tell anyone. So I wound up staying in WV longer than intended, and was a lame almost flaker, and I'm way behind in getting pics of my awesome package from Lindy!
You've probably seen the technique on pinterest where you make a collage, and then paint over it leaving a design showing through. lindy made me one for music:
The colors are brighter IRL, I need to work on the lighting in my craft room to take better pics.
And then she sent me a sweet scrabble tile pendant, "read":
I love it, I'm taking it with me back to WV to wear! So yeah, I'm going back to WV for the rest of this month (my job got put on hold, doesn't help with my helping my mom financially, but at least I will be able to spend time with my family.) Depending on what happens with my job when I get back I will probably join February, if I'm still unemployed I will have tons of time to craft, and my craft room is really like a craft supply store anyway, I'll be smart about my claims.
I love all the changes to the swap RLynn, if anything I like using supplies as a way to fill out a possibly "small medium" claim, and how fun is the random drawing idea?! Looking forward to pulling myself together and swapping with you all!
I was part of a super amazing round robin, and while I received a while ago, I'm just getting to posting pictures. (*edit*These pictures are terrible, I hope to replace ASAP with better lighting)
astriusstar is an AMAZING embroiderer! I told her I wanted to pimp my kitchen out, and she totally delivered!
An apron, pot holders, and then a great hoopla! I love that you painted the hoop. I JUST started experimenting with doing interesting things with the hoop itself. I can't wait until I finish cleaning my craft/guest room this weekend and make my boyfriend REALLY set up my hoopla wall, your satin stitch is crazy great!
I so love everything!!! I had to go hunt down the turret, SOMEONE left it on top of the microwave from the other night. The potholders are extremely useful, I love the pinch one, and I am so happy to have an apron, I have never had one before and I'm using it all the time now! I even got a little magnet hook so I could hang it off the fridge.
As my partners have already said, we decided to do a little something for the other lady in our group, and Alchamy513 made me a great little companion cube and bracelet!
I love the bracelet, never realized but the colors of the cube are SO me!!! And we're getting ready to buy our first car together, so I'm thinking that's where we'll hang our new buddy! It's so cute, and smooshie!
Thank you girls! I hope the post office is swift in delivering your very very late packages from me!
