3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / The Walking Dead mid season break Swap? on: November 29, 2014 03:33:49 PM

Tomorrow night is the mid season finale of Walking Dead. Not only am I not emotionally prepared for it, I'm not sure how I'll survive until new episodes begin in February. I was hoping to find some people to participate in a quick swap.

I was thinking 4 points (large + small or medium + 2 smalls). Sign ups throughout December, partners after Christmas and shipping the last week of January. New episodes begin February 8 and I'd like if everyone could receive before then.

I'll post an official thread once I have interest from a few people.
4  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Star Wars Mug Rug on: January 13, 2012 03:22:49 PM
This was my first quilting attempt and I must say I am rather proud of how it turned out all things considered. I used this pattern: http://alexiaabegg.squarespace.com/journal/2010/11/15/a-glorified-coaster.html and fabric from my stash to create a Star Wars themed mug rug for my husband. It wasn't that hard and only took an afternoon so I'm sure I'll be making many more in my future.

There is already a general interest thread going on but now that a theme and requirements have been decided I thought it would be  good idea to start an official interest thread.

Just in time for the holiday season I am planning a full sized Supernatural swap. Because of the busieness of the season there will be 6 weeks of crafting time.

The requirements of this swap are as follows:

1 large, 1 medium, 1 small

9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / amc-'s Very Crafty Wedding on: August 08, 2011 05:03:00 PM

Saving money and personalizing our wedding were two of the most important things. We were married May 14, 2011 on a very rainy Saturday afternoon. Almost all of the details of the day were crafted by myself with some help from family and friends.

This is the centre of the lights we had across the ceiling in the hall. My step mother actually used to do bows and flowers at Michael's and she came to the rescue the day before and did this.

We had a cookie and desserts bar. My mom and I baked 7 batches of Chocolate Bon Bons in this jar alone.

Our favours were heart shaped cookie cutters with my "famous" sugar cookie recipe included.

I made the flower girl dresses all by myself. Smiley

The flower girls flower balls were made of Dollar Store daisies and 10" styrofoam balls.

Our centrepieces were Ikea vases filled with stones and candles. Half the tables had tall vases and a pillar candle. The other half were short vases with floating candles. I used left other scrapbooking paper in different shades of blue to make the table numbers.

All the kiddies were given a Chubby soda with a personalized label.

My bouquet was my something old. It originally was my aunt's bouquet from my parent's wedding. I replaced the peach flowers with blue ones.

The boy's boutennieres were also homemade.

Both my groom and his groomsmen all wore Converse. On the heel they said their title (best man/groomsman/etc) and our wedding date.

Our guest book was painted by me. Our guests signed the leaves.

Me! Smiley
