I just checked and the bottom isn't actually marble, it's plastic. That makes it okay to paint right? Huh I love the idea of making stripes out of ribbon. Next time, I'm craaft shopping I'll definetly pick some up. Cheesy

did you dye the hoodie because i love the color in the after pictures!
Sadly no I didn't dye it. I think it just look brighter in the second picture becuase it was taken on a burgandy-ish carpet instead of a blue one.
i  was just cruising "recent with pics", and i had to go back and check who the poster was when i saw the lampshade (from your previous post).. i thought i recognized it!!
I'm sure if your cruise Craftster a bit more yu'd find a few more picture I posted last night. Last night was my "finally posting things on Craftster" night.  Cheesy
This is totally irrelevant, but did you get those pants from Old Navy? Because if so, WE ARE WEARING THE SAME PANTS.
Well, I suppose we're wearing the same pants because yes indeed they did come from Old Navy. Aren't they fabulous! Cheesy

Well thank you for all the awesome comments.

783  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Marvelous Melted Plastic Cuffs [Now with Tutorial!] on: June 23, 2007 06:40:44 PM
I was browsing Craftster and found some lovely Melted Bead Cuffs and though I'd make some of my own. I had this plastic rock sort of things sitting around that my strangely girly little brother got at Dollarama and had been wondering for weeks what the heck I was going to do with them. As I was reading the tutorial that little lightbulb above my head went off and I realise not only was this what I was going to do with the rocks but it answered what the heck I was going to give my friend for her birthday. The results:

And now for the not so sexy action shot:

So what do you think? Are they not something every 16 year old girl needs?

Now I'm no genius and actually really suck at explaining things so we'll have to see how this goes....
Plastic Rocks, Beads, ect.
Cookie Sheet
Pop Can

Step 1: Cover a cookie sheet with tinfoil and heat up the oven. I used about 350F but you may need to play around with the tempature.
Step 2: Lay the pastic rocks (or beads or whatever) on the cookie sheet in a rectangle thats the desired length and width you want.
Step 3: Place in oven until completely melted.
Step 4: Remove the cookie sheet and wrap the melted platic and tinfoil around a pop can. This is extremely tricky. You might want to tape the tinfoil to the can.
Step 5: Once the plastic has cooled slide it off the can, peel off the tin foil and TADA! you have a sexy cuff. Smiley

Tip: Do one bracelet at a time. If you try to do more than one the other bracelet will cool while your wrestling to get the first bracelet on the can.

Hope thats helpful  Cheesy

784  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Sexy Lamp Revamp on: June 23, 2007 06:34:05 PM
So I have this lamp here that was my great grandmas. I really have no sentimental attachment to it so it wasn't a big deal to me to change it. So here's the ugly lamp that she left me and my mother:

Today my mother and me were having a nice shopping spree at Michaels and I picked up a a plain white lamp shade and some sexy sequin thingies and here's the result:

I still want to do something with the actually lamp part. Any suggestions?

Sadly, there's no heartbreaking story to go along with the ex boyfriends sweater. It was a long distance and just didn't work. I've had his hoodie in a box full of his things till a few days ago when I was browsing Craftster. I found the tutorial to make a dino hoodie and had to try it myself. I changed other bits of the sweater so it matched the dinos spikes a bit better. So here we go (sorry for all the pictures):
Before (Can you tell that the ex was a little on the scrawny side):

(Sorry about the bad quality of this picture. Man, I look prego in this pic):

The Hood:

Some messed up picture, mostly a picture of the sleeve Undecided :

Comments or Suggestions would be appriciated a lot.

786  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / But why is the rum gone?! on: June 23, 2007 06:24:28 PM
I finally stencilled! I've been wanting to forever but wasn't what to stencil and what that stencil should say. But then I remember good ole Johnny Depp aka Jack Sparrow. So, right before I saw POTC3 I made this lovely tank top. It says (obviously) "But why is the rum gone".
So here's the front of it:

And here's the action shot:

I'm aware it's not the greatest and when I wear it I normally have to tell people what it actually says but it was my first attempt so be kind. Comments would be greatly appreciated.

788  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Re: Monoply Party [My Sweet 16] on: June 21, 2007 01:12:50 PM
Today was my last day of school. Yippee! Cheesy Anyways, I was handing out invites and everyone seemed really psyched but confused at the same time. No one other than myself and of course you fellow Craftsters know whats going on. So here's what the invites look like [Sorry the pics are so big]. This is the extremely cheesey cover but all my friends agree it wouldn't be me if it wasn't cheesy.

And here's the inside. Nothing overly exciting. My address and phone number are crossed out for privacy purposes.

So that's what I've done so far. I will continue to post as my planning continues.

More super fantastic ideas mystarstyle11! Wow, you're so much more creative then me. I'm not sure exactly what you meant by the light bulb thing. But the Community Chest and Chance ideas are marvelous! It's going to take a bit to come up with that list and the questions. Oh, for the trivia questions I'm thinking of making them about me seeing it's my birthday Smiley. Anyways, I'll post the list once I got it made.

PS: I absolutely love the picture mystarstyle11. I'm a big Twilight/New Moon fan myself. Can't wait till the new book Cheesy

Thank you so much for the suggestions. Sadly I do not have a pool but I love the idea of Water Works. I'm thinking maybe set up my bros slip n slide, a sprinkler, water guns and water balloons.  Smiley Sounds like a grand ole time to me. I had thought about the prize table to spend their money at and I haven't decided yet but I'm thinking of switching my top prize for smaller ones for everyone instead. Plus this would give me a chance to go Dollarama shopping.
Good news: I am post poning my party till closer to my birthday so I have a lot more time to plan  Cheesy. Any more ideas floating around in Crafster Land?
