1  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / pattern help, please on: January 28, 2009 07:15:56 AM
My pattern says, "sc in 3 dtr, 2 sc in next dtr".  How do you single crochet IN a double triple crochet?  Do I single crochet in each of the three double triple crochets?
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / need help figuring this out on: September 04, 2008 09:32:23 PM
As you can tell from my name, I am more of a knitter than a crocheter.  I got involved in a discussion about a hat here:

I thought maybe the crocheters would have some helpful input.

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Bill Cosby sweaters on: June 06, 2008 11:49:59 AM
There are three of Bill Cosby's sweaters for sale on E-bay.  They are all starting at $5,000.  Hmm, I wonder why there have been 0 bids so far.... Wink

4  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Baby Basketweave Afghan KAL on: May 19, 2008 09:19:51 AM
This is the Baby Basketweave Afghan from Mary Maxim

I hesitate to start a KAL because I am a very slow knitter.  However, I am very excited about this project so maybe I will get this one done before the intended recipient graduates from college as she (or he) is not even born yet.

Anyone else up for it?
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / entrelac - my new love on: May 19, 2008 08:51:40 AM
Aaahhhh....I forgot what falling in love was like until I started my first entrelac project!  I am working on the Baby Basketweave Afghan by Mary Maxim and I am just amazed that I can actually work the pattern and get it to come out right.  I am so proud of myself.  (Trying not to break my arm while patting myself on the back.)  So now I am thinking about entrelac all the time.  This seems like a good way to use up scraps.  Has anyone made an entrelac scarf with scraps of all different kinds of yarn?

My other question, or rather request, is if anyone knows of an entrelac baby hat pattern, please give me the link of where to download or buy.

Thanks

P.S.  This is what it looks like

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / e-bay alternative? on: March 28, 2008 10:47:05 PM
I like buying second hand patterns.  Where else can I find them other than E-bay?
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / saving patterns on: March 07, 2008 09:02:25 AM
I cannot figure out why this just dawned on me.  For a long time I have been printing out hardcopies of the free patterns I like in case they are ever taken down.  Now that I am in danger of needing a BIG file cabinet to hold them all I figured out patterns saved on a disk take up less space.  What is wrong with me?  Am I really that slow?  I can work my way through almost any pattern set before me, no matter how complicated and yet it took me this long to figure this out.  Oh well.  I hope this saves someone else a trip to an office supply store to buy a file cabinet!
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / cardigan on circulars? on: December 06, 2007 10:10:48 AM
I am thinking of making another Bulky Sampler Coat from Mary Maxim, which is really just a long cardigan.  Can this be done on circulars?  How would I handle the shaping?  Any instructional links would be appreciated.
9  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / guardian angel pin on: October 10, 2007 11:30:31 PM
Annie's Attic had a pineapple guardian angel pin kit for sale.  I waited too long and they are all sold out so now I am trying to find the pattern for sale on the internet.  I have Googled just about every combination of "guardian", "angel", "pineapple" and "pin" possible and I can't find it.  If anyone knows the company that created this adorable pin, please let me know.  Thanks!
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / knitting board to flat on: September 11, 2007 07:57:02 AM
I found an knitting board pattern at my LYS on sale.  Does anyone know how to convert a double knitting, knitting board pattern to double knitting with straight (maybe circular) needles?
