1  Racerback tank top, help with neckline please! in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by morbidfaerytale on: March 21, 2008 11:39:55 AM
Hey all,

im about to start sewing a top similar to the one here, made my pattern and have a top im using to help me along also.

What im confused about is, how do you neaten the neckline, like most of these tops they have a trim of material going round and also on the armholes. I dont have an overlocker though.  I was wondering if i need to cut this piece of material out and fold it over to stitch it down, but because i have a very curvy neckline would this be difficult?im confused! Do i NEED the trim? akkk!! Thanks everyone!

3  Red leopard print strappy top, and recon trousers to mini-i finally did it! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by morbidfaerytale on: February 11, 2007 08:54:10 AM
Hey, i thought i  better just post in here since the top and skirt are in one pic..and it means i only have to post once Tongue

My pics are crap though..my camera literally eats batteries so i took them real quick gurr!!

Here is a piccy of me wearing (excuse the unshapely figure-im trying to lose abit of weight haha) my top i made without a pattern, kind of just measured my bits and drew it out, and started cutting and trying on to make sure it fitted me!  I used some lush red and black leopard print stretch fabric for the bust, and then black jersey material for the back and the bottom of the front.  I added polkadot ribbon around the front to make it more cute, and a little bow, and then used frilly lace for the straps!!

Here is the back :-

And you can see the back of my recon skirt also in that pic Smiley

Onto the skirt.

Some of you may have seen my post in questions the other day about advice on how to turn cord trousers into a mini skirt... well today i went and did it! And here is the results..with my top also Smiley

(I added panels just to the front and back to make it slightly flared and more comfy ^__^)

Excuse the toilet in the background, its the only room with decent light since its getting dark lol!

Hope you enjoyed looking ^__^

4  cord trousers into a mini skirt, heeeeelllp!!!! in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by morbidfaerytale on: February 10, 2007 02:33:16 PM
Hi, ive looked through the search and cant really find anything to do with this..as im wanting to cut my favourite but worn out cord trousers into a mini skirt..all i could find was turning trousers into knee length skirts.

(here is an example of what i want it to look like:-)

I may add a ruffle to the bottom or something..

i cant wear them anymore as they are like 5 years old and the crotch is kinda wearing away haha, so i thought, why not turn them into a cute mini skirt!  Only prob is, i havent done this before, and i dont want to ruin them..so, can anyone direct me to a tute or info on how to go about this?  Thanks for reading, any help will be much appreciated!! x

Please be nice as it is my first time posting my finished creations!! lol

Here is my oh so easy to make phone case, just to protect it from scratches in my bag.  I threaded pink and white polkadot ribbon through the top to tighten it up when the phone is inside Smiley Oh, and you can see my phone charms on there too, i love cute stuff!

Here is a cute Hello Kitty purse i made in sewing class..lined with pink and white striped cotton material.

And here is a pic of the inside:-

And with the same material and some cute lace i made a bag..although i may add pockets inside if i can, i dont know why i didnt in the first place!

Here is the lace detail:-

Inside of the bag:-

And the back of the bag:-

Thanks for looking at my stuff! Smiley
