I'm planning to relocate to Houston fairly soon, and was wondering if anyone would be interested in a serious monthly meetup? Make crafts, share projects, tips, etc... Anyone interested?   Smiley

Hi everyone! I didn't know there were craftsters in El Paso (which is probably what everyone else says, haha)! I would love to schedule a meet up for all of us if possible. Just to get to know all of us in this city. Anyone up for it? Cheesy

Haha! Thanks everyone. I think he will too, it's on it's way so we'll see! Sewsew-a-gogo, I think I totally will but maybe I'll make a shirt for me that says that OR make it out of macaroni. What better way to say that than good old-fashioned macaroni art!  Cheesy

My boyfriend's been gone this week on a rafting trip and I've been really missing him. We both really love cute and corny stuff so I was inspired to make this last night. It only took me about an hour and a half. I'm gonna mail this card so he won't be so lonely when he gets home this week.  Cheesy

What do you think?

8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Digital camera/ipod cover ideas??? on: February 21, 2008 01:28:48 PM
Hey everyone!

So, my bf came down to visit me down here in Phoenix and forgot his digital camera at my place. I'm going down to visit him in Texas for the first time (after three years of knowing each other! I am SO nervous and excited! I get to finally meet his family!! Haha!). Soooo.... I decided he needs a camera holder.

He just carries it around, and it's one of those with the big screen:

Right now I'm carrying it in a purple bandanna I own so the screen won't get scratched. (I flinched when I saw how he carries it around.)

I don't know what design to make it. I'm taking ideas from the ipod covers for this. And I also want to make a belt loop with it that he can just attach to himself or wrist when he's not using it if necessary. And maybe using some clear material that can cover the screen but still protect it. OR simply a cover he can take it in and out of.

Because he's a boy and will be using this camera for different things, I can't make it *too* cute (even though he LOVES cute things). And I don't know whether to make it "manly" or "cool" or have a combination of both. (I saw one ipod cover with flames.)

I thought of making a mini guitar and the belt loop the neck. (He has a real nice bass and guitar and an old 70's amp that just plain rocks. But he dabbles in playing, haha, aww.)

But what do you all think?

This might help. He loves: anime, really cute things(http://e621.net/post/view/4823) and drawings (http://www.e621.net/data/d8/9b/d89b13d29059478ee1e9e7fa86a460f5.png), science-fiction, reading, computer/nerd stuff, he's an engineer (metallurgist to be exact), cooking (and the science of cooking), Renaissance Fairs, and recently racing his Subaru at a local autocross (recently this is ALL he talks about! Very cute how excited he gets. ^^)

Any help would be amazing!

10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Chocobo Hoodie! (SEVERAL PICS INSIDE) on: November 02, 2007 08:28:52 PM
Hey everyone! I am so glad to finally say I have something up on this beautiful site!

Anyway, I made this hoodie for my best friend/ex-boyfriend as his Halloween costume. He loves Chocobos and I thought it was sad he didn't have a Halloween costume. Soooo I bought an old hoodie from Goodwill (yay recycling!) and added all the extras! (By the way, it is VERY difficult to find yellow hoodies...) But I loved how it came out so much I almost didn't want to mail it to him! Haha! (We live on literally opposite sides of Texas.) And he said I'll have to go down there and fight him for it if I want it.  Tongue  But he *LOVED* it and said it was worth shipping it overnight, and I agree.  ^_____^

Me sporting it

Kweh? (That's the sound they make for all of you that may not know)

You gotta have the tail!  Wink

And One Very Satisfied Costumer   Cheesy

Lovin' the Tail!

Haha, he said that he was grinning like crazy when he opened up the box and saw what it was. Yeah, the sleeves are a little short, because I didn't realize until AFTER it was all done that it was a Boys Large..... But, a friend suggested he just roll up the sleeves, and he said after he did that, it looked fine.

Anyway, tell me what you think!  Smiley
