Here are the things that I made for LadybugsAndBumblebees:

The weaving was made on a loom much like this one http://ccsfexhib.files.wordpress.com/2011/11/tapestry-best.jpg?w=500  I learned the technique while working at a community for adults for disabilities in England where I will be returning shortly.  I wove the images with a tapestry needle and filled in the background as I went along.

Here's what I received from TrickyMcVomit:

A handbag and purse set with GLOW IN THE DARK skulls on them an a sugar skull lanyard

A hematite and red skull rosary (I like my religious items to be a little badass!)
A Sherlock themed journal with a stretchy cover

And a surprise inside the back cover!  I don't know where you found this fabric, but it's perfect and I love it!  The journal is just my type, too.  Thank you!

These are the things that I received from LadybugsAndBumblebees

Grey and black crochet scarf
Grey and black crochet laptop sleeve (which unfortunately does not fit my new computer but might fit my old one)
Grey crochet pouch for electronics (nice and cushy!)
two bookmarks
Space and stars scraps

I'm not sure if she meant to, but there were also some crochet patterns that she slipped in, for my next project(?)
Thank you!

4  Re: Skull Swap; Signups to April 4, sendouts May 5 in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by dustyfro on: April 05, 2014 08:18:51 PM
I always feel a little like a detective when I get a new partner, sifting through their craftster lives for useful information...maybe that's because I watch too many crime shows.  BTW, to get in the mood, today I wore my Jason Webley shirt

5  Re: OT Literary Thing and A Used Paperback Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by dustyfro on: March 02, 2014 09:21:57 AM
Here's the craft that I sent to theboywonder.  They are Hunger Games artist tiles (instead of ATCs) painted onto recycled samples for countertops.  The mockingjay pin is a painted Altoids tin to keep them in. The 12 is a mini book.  The book that I sent was One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

Here's what I received from theboywonder!  I lovelovelove it! The cross stitch is a quote from my favorite book, Everything is Illuminated.  If that's not a great philosophy of life, I don't know what is.  The books are Fledgling by Octavia Butler (I can't remember if I've read aything by her or not, but I know I've been meaning to) and Baby Remember My Name: An Anthology of New Queer Girl Writing  I am SO excited to read both of these.  They're perfect!

Here is what the clock for ehinders looked like before it got smashed to smithereens.  The red wingnut was at the 1 o'clock position.  I realized after I packed it that I hadn't attached anything to hang by.  I think maybe a loop of wire will fit through the wire spiral at the top of the rim.

Mail call!  Here are the homey steampunk crafts that I received from ehinders:
A red cast iron (?) keyplate

A spinning weather station with barometer, thermometer, and weather predictor face, with some clockworks, silver filigree, and what I think is a piece from an oil lamp

Another angle.  Did I mention this thing spins?  Whee!

A functional art piece.  I had asked for something to hang my scarves on, and ehinders made this canvas with rings.  The pictures are printed on page pieces that reference Houdini.  How did she know I adore Houdini?  Magic, I am sure!

A Dalek from Doctor Who

This is a very large candle holder cabinet, with a piece to lift up the holder so I can light it, and another piece from a gas lamp wired onto the front.

Thank you ehinders!  It's been lovely crafting with you!

10  Re: Decked Out for Deathly Hallows Part II GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by dustyfro on: July 01, 2011 12:09:13 PM
I RECEIVED!  Baloo sent me a fantastic package!

It was wrapped in tape, but as soon as I broke through and caught a whiff, I knew it was gonna be good!

A tshirt based on my favorite character, Luna Lovegood.  The front is my favorite HP quote.

"I liked the meetings too.  It was like having friends."

A butterbeer cork necklace to complete my Luna costume with the cutest little mug drawn on the bottom

And then, there was the MASTERPIECE

Skivving snackboxes packed to the brim!  Left to right: Fainting fancies, nosebleed nougat, fever fudge, and puking pastilles (the puking pastilles are my fave because they look just like vomit, but the fainting fancies nearly did make me faint.  mmmmmm)

The carnage

I might just make myself truly sick by eating all these.  Oh...so good!  Thank you Baloo!
