ok getting back on topic here are my versions of the bag from the BHG magazine....oh and I found my original copy in a place I'd never think to look...
First one made in Denyse Schmidt Flea Market Fancy Fabrics and in the size the pattern suggested. Second one made from stuff I had lying around and made in a smaller size to what was suggested. Both were xmas presents for friends who loved them...

I had an ill fitting wide leg pair of levi's that had such a short crotch (even for me) that I always had a wedgie so I used the Simplicity website guidelines to change them into a skirt...voila

I made this on the weekend. So easy and the tutorial is hilarious - the ass end of the bag LOL!!!!

I used chocolate brown cord and a white fabric with chocolate swirls for the lining. My interfacing was probably a little too heavy for use with cord but would be ok for a finer fabric - I am going to make more! But I think I will also double the dimensions and try to make a bigger one too..

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but I made this flower pin early this morning when I couldn't sleep. Its from the Amy Butler Madison Bags pattern and its the small flower. I only took a photo of the front but the other side of the petals has red fabric with small white spots on it.

I've been making cards for years but have never photographed them. But I was so taken by my recent effort for a friend's 21st birthday that I almost couldn't give it to her.

I love the designs of Christopher Vine http://www.cvd.com.au/but didn't want to duplicate his cards directly. So I searched for a useable clipart of a fancy shoe and came up with a template to make

Sorry for the crappy phone camera shot. I bought so many nice papers (for my scrapbooking stash I never use) that I thought I should make more cards rather than paying $4-5 per card!

This is my first attempt at making a bag. I used this pattern http://www.kwiksew.com/Projects/P5001/5001.cfm
which is free to download. I elected not to use the piping in this project because I'm still not sure the best way to go about making it but I will put it in the next one. The only problem I came across is that the darts on the pattern seem too small on the actual bag. I little bit of creative pressing with the steam iron and I think it looks ok. I used it at a birthday party last weekend and got lots of comments

Please ignore my dodgy handstitching in the second photo - I was in a rush to finish it and use it!
