101  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: My teddy bear stole my new hat.... on: February 12, 2007 05:42:53 PM
That's an adorable bear. I had a bear that was who know how many years old. I adopted him from a fellow band geek, and passed him down to one of my band kids a few months ago to keep the tradition of harassing the band with it.
And the hat and wristwarmers are adorable!

That's uber pretty! I <3 it!
And I'm wondering too, what's the stitch pattern? I can't quite make it out...

That's awesome!
I love it! I wish I could do stuff like that, but I'm too afraid of complicated stitch patterns...

That looks really awesome! I've been debating making that for a while. Maybe I will later...

Very cute. I like it! Don't be offended, but it reminds me of those Kewpie Dolls
Don't worry, I'm not offended, it kinda does look like that.
My friends said it looks like a flower, and my brother said I look like a monk.
106  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / My First Hat [IMG Heavy] (NEW! Pattern at top of Pg 2!) on: February 11, 2007 10:20:29 PM
So I've never made any type of hat before. I've made headbands, but never a hat.
Well, anyway, I got my first cable needle last week(because I was too cheap to buy one earlier) and decided that now would be a good time to make a hat. And like I do with all of my other projects, I just jumped right in and made it up as I went along! GO ME!
This is the finished product:

I like how the pointy bit came out, and the fit.

This one shows the detail of the pattern.

And this shows off the brim that my brother hates.

Note: Me+Camera=Bad Pics of myself looking sick, high, drunk or all of the above. Forgive the funkiness.

It turned out way better than expected and I can't wait to show it off to all of my friends at school tomorrow!

That's good. I'd be scarred for life if that happened to me. That's why my projects will stay FAR FAR AWAY from my children when I have them!

I'd put the Hex on the Stepmom. Then ask the son if he wanted to move anything, and if he doesn't move the blankets, hex him too!

Ouch, luckily I've never done that, nor has any of my family, because they would be very very pissed. But I thank my lucky stars every time I remember to pick the needles BEFORE sitting down.

Ouch, cut up your project? That sounds emotionally painful!
