1  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Mini Art Quilt on: July 26, 2009 11:04:18 AM
I made this for the Mini Art Quilt Swap. My partner received a week ago so it's safe to post.  Wink

I went with her Magnolia Tree Theme. They are also trying to buy a house so I thought a house and tree would be nice together.

I quilted the blue background with blue thread, the house with burgundy &/or brown thread, the window with blue thread. The grass and walk with green and gray thread.

My stitches were bigger than I wanted them to be.  Cry I have to work on the quilting needle rock.  Grin

I put their initials on the tree in a heart.  Kiss
2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / 3 Little Monsters on: July 09, 2009 06:59:14 PM
I made these for the Monster Mash Swap.

My partner's favorite colors are black and orange.

The Double Monster. Side 1 & side 2.

 The orange side was inspired by an orange monster on her Wist and the black cat side was inspired by a pair of shoes on her Wist.

She also loves animal print.

Rolly Polly Leopard

The Clumsy Little Monster Girl

She's a ballerina. With only one eye and no arms for balance, not a very good one. She loves her tutu.
3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Twilight's Alice Cullen Poppet on: June 22, 2009 11:57:24 AM
About a month ago, cookimistress and I decided to do a personal swap.

I made an Alice Cullen Poppet for her. She's taking her to the Twilight Convention this summer.

Here she is.

She sparkles like diamonds too. But it was really hard to get a picture of.
4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Coraline/missmuffcake Poppet on: May 21, 2009 06:55:40 PM
I made this for missmuffcake as part of the Coraline Swap.

One her list, she said she would love a button-eyed doll that looks like her. So this is what I came up with.

Button-Eyed missmuffcake, better watch out! The Other Mother could be watching.  Wink

Her side view. missmuffcake has a skeleton hand shirt that she likes, so I used skeleton print fabric for her dress. She also likes to wear barrettes in her hair.

Here she is. Up close.  Wink She has black and silver eyelashes. I wish you could see the sparkle in the pictures.
5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Kat the Poppet on: May 13, 2009 01:52:52 PM
I made this poppet in the Make Me A Doll Swap for Anya Kase.

She's calling her Kat for now.  There could be a name change in her future. Wink

I started off with the idea to make a rockabilly doll. She likes apple green and I had this fabric that was pretty close to the color. So I'm not sure she's really rockabilly, but I like how she turned out.

Kat the poppet.

Her close up.

We also made an extra for our dolls. Kat wanted a pet bat.  Wink

Little Batty

You can find the pattern for the bat here. I resized it to make it smaller for Kat.

6  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Coraline and the kitty on: May 13, 2009 12:12:17 AM
I made this for the Coraline Swap. I used beads and buttons to frame the embroidery. Swirls like the tunnel.  Wink

7  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / The Coraline Garden on: April 15, 2009 08:02:38 PM
I'm not sure where to put this. There was tons of needlework, so I think this is where it should go.  Wink

~~~
Here's The Coraline Garden I made for MalibuKasey's girls in the Coraline swap.
It is color tinted, embroidered, beaded, buttoned & has sequin hair.
I based it on a picture I found on flickr from the Portland Premier party. I tried to find beads and buttons that would best represent the flowers, trees and leaves. What I could not find in beads or buttons, I used embroidery floss.
I wish I had taken a few close up pictures, but I didn't think about it at the time.  Wink
8  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Cross Stitch from 97 on: March 10, 2009 10:43:23 AM
I made this for my Dad and Step-Mom in 97.  I never took a picture of it back then. I was just home for my sister's wedding and took a picture while I was there. I still love this alphabet.
9  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Kitchen Towel Set on: March 10, 2009 10:11:42 AM
I made this towel set for the IYP 11 swap. My partner was sundayafternoonhousewife. I did them in colors to match her kitchen.  Grin
She had the towel made by gkswife in another swap on her Wist. So I wrote to her and ask if I could use the picture as a pattern for SAHW. She said yes. Thanks so much gkswife for letting me use  your pattern in this swap.  Kiss
When I saw this little jar of love, I had to stich it. My Great Grandma use to keep a little jar on the back of her stove and would spinkle love in whatever she would cook for me when I was a tiny little one.  I'm going to stich one for my kitchen too.  Wink
The complete set with the rick rack towels.
10  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Poppet for aliciasjoy on: March 09, 2009 03:25:38 PM
I just did a private swap with aliciasjoy. Here's the poppet I made for her. Her color is based on a poppet made by MK that can be seen here.
