21  Re: Roaming Gnome Round 2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by SugarySweet on: June 10, 2009 04:55:55 PM
Edgar is HOME!!  Grin

First stop on his trip was in CT with beckashell, she also took him to New York City!!

Second, he went to AR to visit with Linda P. Looks like there was a lot of rain and a trip to the library to check out some craft books. He found a gnome crossing. Maybe ran into a few friends there.  Grin

Edgar's third stop was in WA with grenouille78  . He rode an antique carousel at the zoo, went to a baseball game and saw the Space Needle!!

Thanks so much ladies, Edgar had a lot of fun on his travels.  Kiss

22  Re: Summer Traveling Tea Towel Swap Gallery in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by SugarySweet on: June 07, 2009 06:38:59 PM
I had to charge my camera and ended up taking pictures after dark anyway. But they are not too bad. Somedays they just turn out better than others.

Here's what I stitched for Anya Kase.

Here's her towel so far.

Here's what I stitched on Ma Rut's TT. Ignore the little fibers that are on it from the fur fabric I thought would be pretty to lay it on. Can't even really see it.  Tongue

The flowers are teal, but they look more blue in the pictures.

The TT so far.  Grin

25  Coraline/missmuffcake Poppet in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by SugarySweet on: May 21, 2009 06:55:40 PM
I made this for missmuffcake as part of the Coraline Swap.

One her list, she said she would love a button-eyed doll that looks like her. So this is what I came up with.

Button-Eyed missmuffcake, better watch out! The Other Mother could be watching.  Wink

Her side view. missmuffcake has a skeleton hand shirt that she likes, so I used skeleton print fabric for her dress. She also likes to wear barrettes in her hair.

Here she is. Up close.  Wink She has black and silver eyelashes. I wish you could see the sparkle in the pictures.

We went to downtown Detroit tonight and got some pretty cool pictures.

They have loads of shows here with many differant types of bands. Besides the fact that they need to clean it, I like the way it turned out.

I don't really know how well it's known out of the area, but I've heard it referred to on a few TV shows. I'll guess a lot of people don't realize it's a real place.  Tongue

I decided I should move the image to the gallery.  Wink

Here's what I stitched on my towel to start it off.

28  Kat the Poppet in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by SugarySweet on: May 13, 2009 01:52:52 PM
I made this poppet in the Make Me A Doll Swap for Anya Kase.

She's calling her Kat for now.  There could be a name change in her future. Wink

I started off with the idea to make a rockabilly doll. She likes apple green and I had this fabric that was pretty close to the color. So I'm not sure she's really rockabilly, but I like how she turned out.

Kat the poppet.

Her close up.

We also made an extra for our dolls. Kat wanted a pet bat.  Wink

Little Batty

You can find the pattern for the bat here. I resized it to make it smaller for Kat.

29  Coraline and the kitty in Needlework: Completed Projects by SugarySweet on: May 13, 2009 12:12:17 AM
I made this for the Coraline Swap. I used beads and buttons to frame the embroidery. Swirls like the tunnel.  Wink

I found this mushroom in my backyard today. I'm not sure what type it is, but I like the way it looks. I've never seen one like this before. So I took some pictures.  Grin
