Wish there was something like this for my side of the state!  I'm in the North East corner.  We have a few places, but nothing like the sound of these!  I am green with envy!  Wink

Jealous here too!!!  I love making the pendants with these!
3  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Seat belts!!!!! on: July 15, 2008 04:05:03 AM
I have been collecting old seatbelts from the car squishing place here in town, and they are the COOLEST thing ever!  Think about the bags, rugs, curtains, or outdoor pillows that could be made with these things!  If anyone can think of anything else in old cars that could be fairly easily removed and then made into something, lemme know.  I'm all about the scavenging this place!

Lots of old cars use magnets in the vanity mirror!  Many of the car lots are just gonna flatten them, so they don't mind people taking the useless parts out.  I scored hundreds of seatbelts!!!

If copper/bronze discolors your skin, try dipping it in vinegar or lemon juice for a few minutes every other night.  It keeps the tarnish down.  I get the discoloration on my hands just from working with the stuff, but this method seems to work if I wear the items for any amount of time each day.  Just don't leave them in too long!

Bottling companies will often have extra tabs and they will sell them per pound or if you are lucky, give them away!

The answer is on page 3.

Actually, no it's not.  I was wondering how she originally GOT the saw into the spoon to create the heart shape.  You would have to drill a hole with something...  just wondering what was used for that part....

I love it!!!  I know the bubbles have sticky on the back, but it seems like they would need something else to make them stick together...  did you use any glue?  WONDERFUL idea!!!
