21  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Happiness is a new cot for Pobey on: March 04, 2012 03:04:51 PM
We are in dog training classes and needed a type of bed to put our dog in their place. These beds can be pricey so I found this tute http://www.instructables.com/id/Build-a-Dog-Cot-for-around-10/   and made one for my Border Collie. I used outdoor fabric but I think if/when I make another one I will use a different type of fabric that is more durable.

22  SEWING IN GENERAL / Machine Embroidery: Completed Projects / Happiness is Easy peasy tissue cases in the hoop on: February 13, 2012 12:47:35 PM
I made these for a friends two daughters as a thank you for picking up my daughter from school a couple weeks ago when I couldn't. I was a bit intimidated at first to give these cases a try as it seemed so involved but once I read the instructions like 50 times I understood what to do.  Huh lol  The first one took me a couple hours, not just to make but to stop and take the dogs out to the bathroom, eat and surf the net. lol The second one took less than an hour but could have been faster had I not had to take the dogs out again and snack and surf the net.  Cheesy I got the design from http://www.purplehat.co.za/  I think the instructions could have been clearer for my slow brain but I did figure out in the end and they turned out perfect. I hope these girls like them.

23  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / My two shower caps on: February 13, 2012 07:32:14 AM
I made these before Christmas and just got around to posting the pictures. I'm sick today so I'm not working and I get to catch up on all kinds of things like posting and surfing my favorite crafty site.
I hope to make more of these as time allows as they are so fun and I do wear a shower cap as I don't wash my hair everyday and sometimes I take 2 showers a day and don't want to goober up my hair.  I've even had requests from men for these caps so guess these are ubber popular now.  Cheesy

The first one I made was to small so I gave it to my daughter and the polky dot one is mine and is the right size.  I have some other ideas on how to make these better.

Thanks for looking.

24  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / I know...I know...Christmas is over but..... on: February 13, 2012 07:27:39 AM
I made this hat before Christmas to wear for the holidays and am just getting around to posting pics of it. I'm sure you all have seen it before but it's Penny's hat from I think the show is Big Bang Theory? Don't watch it so I'm not sure. But anywho, the pattern came from here http://nana-n-thecats.blogspot.com/2009/12/and-heres-pattern.html . The first time I made it my yarn was to thick so I had a huge hat my daughter called a turkey. lol  I remade it using the right gauge yarn and it turned out perfect. I am so proud of my Kitchener stitches as they came out great for my first try at it. I loved wearing this hat over the holidays and got lots of stares too. lol  I also added some eyelash yarn to the pom poms when I made them for extra fun.

25  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Craft rooms outside ie sheds??? on: June 05, 2011 08:33:23 PM
I have a very small house and no extra rooms in my house for a crafting room. I was using my daughters room but now she and my son need to not share a room anymore so I am losing my space. I have considered buying one of those large outdoor sheds but my concern is the weather and bugs.  I live in Texas and we get hot even though I can put one of those window ac's, it will be hot when I'm not in it working. I also worry about bugs getting into my fabric. I don't know what to do. Sad

I have so many supplies and no room.
26  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Happines is a cute wittle wristlette on: April 02, 2011 03:16:49 PM
I love this wristlette and the feeling of accomplishment on completing is even better and I want to make more.  Grin Grin  I think I am going to put my insulin and blood sugar meter in this one. It's small but still big enough for what it needs to be used for too. I bet my cell phone would fit perfectly too.
