22  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Ongoing Book Swap Jun-July on: July 26, 2006 08:00:35 AM
Okay guys, here's the deal. I'm going to be gone for a few days, I should be back by the 31st. I'm not going to close the swap though, I will close it once I return. If you are interested in participating in the swap again next month, please send me a PM. If at least 5 people are interested, I'll keep the swap open and continue organizing. Otherwise, I'll close it on the 31st. If anyone has any ideas on how we can change the swap to get more people interested, let me know.

Your hair looks awesome Altair!
30  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: The body of Buddha on: July 13, 2006 06:48:39 PM
My family is Buddhist and I find "witty" phrases like that to be ignorant and slightly offensive. Buddha is not a god.
Also, not all Buddhas have big bellies. The big-bellied Buddha represents a man who was once handsome, but gained weight to keep the girls away so he could focus on becoming enlightened.
Hmm. I'm actually sort of mad now.

We're all ignorant in some way or another. It's not as if she meant it to be offensive.. If I'm not mistaken, Mahayana Buddhists believe that Buddha was a manifestation of God. Whereas Theravada Buddhists believe he was human.
