1  Ange/démon tank top in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by kyanee on: December 22, 2010 02:09:11 PM
just finished this christmas gift for a friend. I know she likes to wear tank tops day and night so I made this as pj's but she'll probably wear it by day too...
pictures are not really good, I took them when I finished, it was already dark...

the wings look a bit wonky but I promise, they are not Smiley  there is also a trace around them, it's chalk from when I draw them on the shirt, I still must take it off.

C&C welcome
thanks for looking Smiley

2  christmas painted mugs in Winter Holidays by kyanee on: December 08, 2010 08:15:25 AM
just finished these 4 mugs, two for BF and the others for my father's friend.
I made a reindeer floating on a clear brown mug last year, I thought it was making more sense, like he was floating in coffee or chocolate, but I had a bunch of white mugs to deal with before I'm allowed to buy some more Smiley
I found the star wars and trumpet designs on the internet.
I rushed a little for the ones with santa and reindeer so I'm not completely satisfied with some details but oh well... Smiley

C&C welcome, thanks for looking Smiley

3  the trumpets of doom in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by kyanee on: November 30, 2010 05:31:42 AM
just finished this for the BF's anniversary...
he is a very proud trumpet player and a bit of a geek who loves pirates (I swear, he's not a kid  Roll Eyes ) so I hope he will like this (in fact he MUST cause I just spent so much time on this...  Grin
I painted the shadows on the trumpets but stitched every shape anyway...
I put fleece in the skull to give it more shape

just playing around...

some progress shots...

the design is not mine, I found this image on www.zazzle.be

I kept it more simple, in fact I didn't wanna ruin it while adding the black and yellow lines, but i'm still hesitating whether or not to add the keys and notes....(machine embroidery, appliqué, paint...?)

what do you guys think?

thanks for reading  Smiley

4  it's never too late for a black dress... in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by kyanee on: November 30, 2010 04:59:43 AM
I made this dress two years ago for my faculty ball

I have two kgs more now, which is not so much unless you want to put on a dress which is absolutely NOT stetchy!
two buttons went away cause I breathed too hard... sigh... Sad
I guess I'll have to fix the size one day if I wanna wear it and not choose between breathing and eating...
anyway it was my first serious sewing project so I love it all the same...
I fell in love with the outside fabric, but maybe I shouldn't have chosen a black lining, to show the stripes more...
I had no heels when I took the photo, the bottom looks less weird with them..

(with the sun on my face I had such a silly face, I had to take it off... )

the line of buttons looks wonky on this picture but it's not, really Smiley

juste for pleasure, the lovely fabric Smiley

thanks for looking, C&C welcome Smiley

5  Beauty & the Beast prologue calligraphy in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by kyanee on: June 14, 2010 07:05:14 AM
I always loved the prologue of Disney's Beauty & the Beast, the story in stained-glass windows and most of all, the music (I may not be as grown-up as I thought). This week I should be studying for my exams so... was it not the perfect moment for such a time-consuming project??  Grin
I say time-consuming because of the lines I had to trace before I could write... this really took ages...
It's the first time I calligraphy so for a première, I'm quite happy with the result...
I never post anything but this time I had the camera just in front of me so I thought I could share...  Smiley

colours are more bright in reality...

and just for pleasure, a closer view of my not-so-regular writing...

good day to you all!
