1  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Grilled Cheese Day! on: May 31, 2013 02:33:14 PM
My friend and I made these while up real late one weekend. It took ages to make compared to a normal, run of the mill grilled cheese. By the end of it we were starving and wondering if the extra time had been worth it. We had cooked the bacon and grilled jalapenos before hand as well. The end result is heavenly and this is coming from someone whose diet is made up of basically grilled cheese and pizza.
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Naturally my first puppy needed his own cool bed! on: January 12, 2013 05:02:52 PM
And not just any bed from the store would do. I knew I wanted it to be like a large floor pillow, it seemed most comfortable for a larger breed dog. I thought about the fleece tie blankets and figured I could put stuffing inside one and wah-la, pillow. Since it is for a puppy who will probably be very curious I knew he would find the fuzz if I left it at though so I also put stitching all around it right underneath the knotting. It turned out very lovely and professional looking. The underside which I did not take a picture of is just a solid dark gray. I am betting that the fringe will be used as a toy which is fine by me, dual purpose. This one is about two and a half feet long by two feet wide. When he either gets bigger or tears this one up I will make him another bigger one. Smiley Enjoy!

I get to go pick this little guy up on the 20th, friends of craftster, meet Malfoy! Named after Draco Malfoy it seemed fitting for him to have this fabric for his bed, I also picked him up a doggie toy that is a stuffed dragon!

Please excuse all the unnecessary puppy information, I am 21 and was never allowed a puppy. I moved out and the very first thing I did was find him. He has everything I wanted in the breed (Siberian Husky) he has the red and white fur combo that I find adorable, blue eyes, and an evil looking mask.

Edit: Since posting this I also made a leash, I didn't know where would be the best place to post it so I am adding it here and hopefully someone can point me in a better direction for future things of this nature. Smiley

I almost bought a leash and harness set made from ACU fabric off of etsy. I had never made a harness and didn't want to make it and Malfoy break it and run away so I felt it was best to get it from someone with practice. The leash I almost got but realized I had all the things I needed to go ahead and give it a go myself. It was really easy. It was just like making straps for a purse. Instead of a traditional hook I chose to use a climbing hook, I thought it went with the military theme a lot better.
3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Harry Potter Holiday ~ Beware Nargles in Your Mistletoe! on: December 10, 2012 12:28:00 PM
I received from teag about a week ago and a few days ago I received from Abbeeroad.

teag sent me a lovely chocolate frog fresh from the trolley. To give it a bit of a Christmas-y feel she added a red ribbon around his neck (yes it is a boy chocolate frog) and a bit of nargle infested mistletoe in his mouth.

From Abbeeroad I received a felted ornament (on the left) and a little quilted pouch with a snake clasp in honor of my favorite house. She also hand stitched my favorite curse on it, Avada Kedavra! The front has a snake painted on it. If only it were a teensy bit bigger, I would keep my cell phone in there!

It doesn't end there, though. Abbeeroad also included an extra stamped metal key chain from my pinterest.

Everything is amazing! I am in love with the dragon orb Teag made, I received an adorable polymer clay piece from her myself while I was out, I will have pictures of it up soon.

I really like the new take on the Harry Potter peg person as well as the Nativity set. I think the personalized news letters were a real cute touch!

You guys are fast! I feel like I totally neglected crafting these last handful of days here but I am hoping to totally make up for it tonight and tomorrow. Smiley

I know ya'll probably like to keep it mostly secret but would anyone care to indulge in maybe the medium they used most in their craft?

Edit: I feel I TOTALLY made up for lagging these last few days. I'd say I am sitting at being 65% done with my crafting after a power craft night session. Waiting for some things to dry and letting the strength return to my fingers before I dive back in.

So there I was stumbling through Wal-Mart with my friend. I wasn't even looking for anything, I just needed some paint for other craft reasons and he wanted to look at Christmas stuff. I found the PERFECT item to inspire me what to make for my partners. It is such a cute idea I got enough to make them each one. I am doing a prototype tonight to make sure I can handle it. Other than that I am super pleased with what I came up with. I even watched a Harry Potter movie before I went to the store so I guess I blame that for my Pottery-crafty spirit
