11  Re: Back to Hogwarts 3 in New Swap Theme Ideas by MadHatteh on: July 19, 2012 09:43:55 AM
YESYESYESYESYES. My little brother keeps asking me what the next thing I am going to craft is and I told him I was waiting for this swap! I am so stoked for my first BACK TO HOGWARTS SWAP!  Grin

I was sorted in to Ravenclaw on Pottermore, I am clearly a Slytherin. I think that the sorting hat might have been a bit drunk on fire whiskey when I put him on.  Angry You guys might appreciate the sticker I got for my car.  Wink

12  Mini Ravenclaw School Bag in Completed Projects by MadHatteh on: July 17, 2012 11:07:22 AM
I made this for the One Tiny Harry Potter Thing swap for my partner Fiber Alchemist. I had never made anything little like this before so I was really pleased with how it turned out. Smiley Included with it was a letter from a Slytherin (myself) who had the task of putting together bags of school supplies for new students as punishment.

The backpack is sewn from felt and the little Ravenclaw logo I made from cutting out wax paper stencils and painting on with acrylics

Everything together, the Ravenclaw blue pens were in case my partner wanted to add more notes and couldn't manage the teeny weeny quill included.

Little class books

The little tin was mostly to help contain the tiny bottle of ink even further if it somehow came open in the mail

I decorated about 30 pages in a little note book of useful notes, some had color with them as well

I didn't know that blue charm was in there! Haha at least it seems to blend in with everything else!  Cheesy Glad you enjoyed it, I had a lot of fun making the little notebook.

I did up about thirty pages in it I think before I had to send it! I had loads of fun doing the pages and I would like to do another one of those for myself.

!GET YOUR PINNING FINGERS LOADED!!!!!!!!

OH MY GLOB.

This is what I pulled out of a carefully packaged and bubble wrapped package

I quickly decided I better get some help opening the chest!

Alohormora!

This was on the inside lid, Slytherin pride already I see. Smiley

The first thing I pulled out was a little scarf, how dashing!

A scarf AND THE ELDER WAND?! It even fit in Draco's teeny hand which is amazing because I didn't tell anyone I had HP action figures

A friend for Draco, pfft like he needs friends. I think we'll name him Bradley. A snitch of our own and a cauldron to brew up trouble!

CANDYYYYYYYYYYY. It fits on my fingertip it is so small! There are teeny little botts in there!

School supplies! Books and parchment!

There was even a wonderfully stitched Slytherin Robe with a small clasp on it! Magic Madamn Malkine must've slipped in and measured, Mr. Malfoy!

This is where it will be displayed! On my top shelf with a portion of my Harry Potter collection! These are my favorite action figures and such I have!

THANK YOU SO MUCH, FIBER! I ADORE IT SO MUCH! I always super wanted a little HP chest <333 This is so awesome!

There was also a Slytherin house pin in there, I had the same one years ago but it fell off my bag strap, this one is going on the side of my lucky Cubs hat! Best first HP swap!

Edit: I don't know whats wrong with my pictures, they aren't lik ethat when I upload them and check their previews! Help

15  Nutella Peanut Butter Rolls! in Dessert by MadHatteh on: May 03, 2012 12:07:29 AM
So easy, Pillsbury flakey dinner rolls that I spilt in half and them spread with peanut butter and nutella and sandwiched together, I baked them in the over on 350 until the tops were golden brown, I also sprinkled a little bit of sugar over the top of them before baking.

 They turned out delicious!

16  Potato Chips! in Recipes and Cooking Tips by MadHatteh on: May 03, 2012 12:05:08 AM
I made these myself on the flat top stove. They turned out wonderfully and were super easy and pretty fun to make. I had a craving for some chips and we didn't have any at home, I really didn't want to go out and purchase them and happened to spot the bag of potatoes! I just shaved the skin off and washed them, sliced them into fairly thin slices, some turned out thicker than you'd imagine but were still great! I heated oil in a pan on the stove over medium heat and dropped the slices in until they fried to the crispy-ness I desired, I drained them from the oil then and let them cool and drop on layers of paper towels.

17  First attempt at quilting in Quilting: Completed Projects by MadHatteh on: April 13, 2012 06:18:08 PM
I made this for the first swap I ran, the Theme Box Swap. One side is Star Wars and the reverse side is a modge podge of different tee shirts. It took about a week to make, hours of sewing! The pictures were taken by LanySmiles. I loved how it turned out and would love to make another quilt sometime for myself Smiley

I probably will not continue using tee shirts as much as I enjoy the look of them, stitching the jersey cotton is a huge pain, it pulls, stretches, and is generally a hassle. ):

I think you might be in the wrong swap!  Wink

I have pictures now!

Right when I opened it, a book full of iron on transfers to celtic animals patterns

Under it, goodies galore!  Kinder eggs Wink I love those so much, it's the best kind of chocolate.

Felt kits for things off my pinterest (Tardis, Hefflalump, Draco, 'Max')

Chocolates I haven't seen here before, also very good, some 'Tatoe' chips which I ate shortly there after
A box of Lany's favorite tee
Bubbly dessert mix I am looking forward to having on a girl night by myself
'Drinking chocolate' which I imagine is like hot chocolate
Instant Hot chocolate from a brand not around here
Some goodies with shamrocks on them since Lany was from Ireland
A belt she said reminded her of chewie from star wars
A Pooh photo album since I had disney all over my pinterest
A dog notebook for the animals
A 'Moshi Monster' which can be used as a zipper pull, I got the cutest one dressed as the statue of liberty.

A hoop! I have always wanted one Smiley She got the idea off a tattoo I have pinned

She made this based off a felt drifloon and the hats I had posted! Awesome, it's super soft and made from alpaca yarn. Lovely detail, everyone who has seen it knows what it is right away

Another super awesome hat, it's a cable knit as inspired as a celtic theme I had, more alpaca yarn, can't wait for cooler times so I can wear it!

MY FAVORITE THING!!!! I never expected these to really ever be made for me and I had them pinned because I liked them. The original were little kid sized but Lany made them in my size Smiley So awesome, super soft as well, I had lions as a pin. Favorite animal! Be jealous!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!  Smiley Smiley Grin
I really love everything, you spoiled me so much. This was the best package I have received! You really scoured my pinterest for things I would love! Such a thoughtful package, you were a wonderful partner. Smiley I found something I had made and something video game like I had wanted to send you but forgot when I packed it.

19  Re: Theme Box Swap (SU- Jan 13-25; SO Feb 26/12)SU closed! in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by MadHatteh on: February 04, 2012 01:01:27 PM
There was a very lovely service today and the funeral. Nobody tripped and the flag didn't touch the ground, I feel a lot better now that it is over, more calm and less upset about it. Thank you everyone for your support through it. I have to go to my unit later this evening and again tomorrow but come Monday I am finishing up this ambitious project.

My older brother got to come home for it, he is stationed down at Ft. Campbell.
