1  Naturally my first puppy needed his own cool bed! in Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects by MadHatteh on: January 12, 2013 05:02:52 PM
And not just any bed from the store would do. I knew I wanted it to be like a large floor pillow, it seemed most comfortable for a larger breed dog. I thought about the fleece tie blankets and figured I could put stuffing inside one and wah-la, pillow. Since it is for a puppy who will probably be very curious I knew he would find the fuzz if I left it at though so I also put stitching all around it right underneath the knotting. It turned out very lovely and professional looking. The underside which I did not take a picture of is just a solid dark gray. I am betting that the fringe will be used as a toy which is fine by me, dual purpose. This one is about two and a half feet long by two feet wide. When he either gets bigger or tears this one up I will make him another bigger one. Smiley Enjoy!

I get to go pick this little guy up on the 20th, friends of craftster, meet Malfoy! Named after Draco Malfoy it seemed fitting for him to have this fabric for his bed, I also picked him up a doggie toy that is a stuffed dragon!

Please excuse all the unnecessary puppy information, I am 21 and was never allowed a puppy. I moved out and the very first thing I did was find him. He has everything I wanted in the breed (Siberian Husky) he has the red and white fur combo that I find adorable, blue eyes, and an evil looking mask.

Edit: Since posting this I also made a leash, I didn't know where would be the best place to post it so I am adding it here and hopefully someone can point me in a better direction for future things of this nature. Smiley

I almost bought a leash and harness set made from ACU fabric off of etsy. I had never made a harness and didn't want to make it and Malfoy break it and run away so I felt it was best to get it from someone with practice. The leash I almost got but realized I had all the things I needed to go ahead and give it a go myself. It was really easy. It was just like making straps for a purse. Instead of a traditional hook I chose to use a climbing hook, I thought it went with the military theme a lot better.

2  Re: Harry Potter Holiday ~ Beware Nargles in Your Mistletoe! in The Swap Gallery by MadHatteh on: December 10, 2012 12:28:00 PM
I received from teag about a week ago and a few days ago I received from Abbeeroad.

teag sent me a lovely chocolate frog fresh from the trolley. To give it a bit of a Christmas-y feel she added a red ribbon around his neck (yes it is a boy chocolate frog) and a bit of nargle infested mistletoe in his mouth.

From Abbeeroad I received a felted ornament (on the left) and a little quilted pouch with a snake clasp in honor of my favorite house. She also hand stitched my favorite curse on it, Avada Kedavra! The front has a snake painted on it. If only it were a teensy bit bigger, I would keep my cell phone in there!

It doesn't end there, though. Abbeeroad also included an extra stamped metal key chain from my pinterest.

I am glad you liked everything, Megz. Keep the tee shirt safe for me, it is the first tee shirt (the one that started my collection) I ever bought from one of my limited edition websites.

Each charm on this bracelet has some for of correlation to Megz's questioner, be it a like or even just something mentioned in passing.

Some teaser shots for Megan  Wink I cast Reducto on the packages contents. You'd be amazed what all I can fit in a small box.

It will be going out tomorrow after work.

I received, my original partner has returned and totally made well with me. There were Slytherin socks galore in my box! I will have pictures up tonight after I get my room cleaned up for a photo op.

And here I am to deliver!

I screeched when I pulled these from the box. Literal screech. I ran to shed my jeans and put them on. Your lucky you got a photo with pants on that's how excited I was. I texted a picture of them on me to my boyfriend and it reads 'OH MY WIZARDS LOOK WHAT A FRIEND MAILED ME'

A tee shirt!
I tried, I really tried to get a picture of the back of this while it was on me and this was the best I could do. I love how even though I don't have a quidditch position she made me 'Captain' because Captain Morgan Also I like the insignia over my heart. It wasn't till five minutes of having it on did I notice it was a snitch in the center.

Some goodies including a bookmark with my favorite quote on it, a broom stick shrunk down to pocket sized which I think I am going to use as the first ornament on a Harry Potter christmas tree, a snitch which I also may stick on the tree...I also would like to make a mobile out of snitches so we shall see. Also a Slytherin colored bracelets. I know this knot and I know how long they take. Kudos to you for having the patience. There was also a CD which I forgot to put in the picture full of Harry Potter music, it also had A Very Potter Musical on it (Can you believe I have never heard it before?) I will be listening to it on my drive to drill in the morning

More socks! I love socks so much, I wear them almost all day, I insist on sleeping in them as well. I cannot knit at all. If I could I would make socks all day. I am presently sitting here in these.

I am a little nervous to put these on as my calves are really freaking muscley but I really do like them, the black at the top has green sparkleys in it.

She also included a coloring book for The Avengers and some crayons. I haven't had a coloring book in ages so I will have to make use of this!

And meow my public apology:

Sorry for assuming the worst out of you Megz, I do apologize for it. I know how life can get busy and keep you down. I just figured since it was your first swap you might have gotten nervous about it and bailed on me. I hope you enjoy my parcel which I will be sending out for you tomorrow (if drill ends before the post office closes)

6  The three year drawing in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by MadHatteh on: September 10, 2012 05:32:09 AM
Some background information, I began this drawing out of nowhere on January 22nd, 2009. After I filled about 45% of the page (All I really did was the lion) I stopped. I had clocked 12 solid hours of work on this before I finally put it away. After seeing it daily for the last three years, I never knew how to finish it until today. It took me about 7 more hours to get to a state of completion. At least enough to show people it...I could probably invest another handful of hours detailing it more, making things a little bit neater, etc. All of of is done in black ink which ranged from being a black sharpie in thick and fine point, normal ball point pens, and my favorite, a pen with a precise tip that resembles a needle.

I am very proud of the lion in particular, there is no pencil outlines underneath it, this drawing is solid ink.  Wink Well, solid ink minus the splash of color for the lion's eye.

All of the quotes on it are 'drug' related as when it was first started it was done so under an influence. It seemed very fitting for the nature of the lion.

I'm not really looking for criticism on this as I will more than likely never do anything like this again, I had never done anything like this before which I think makes it even more awesome. The lines lose a lot of their uniformity as time goes on due to the cramping this type of drawing inflicts in your hand.

7  Re: Back to Hogwarts 3 ~*Signups CLOSED!*~ in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by MadHatteh on: September 04, 2012 09:51:25 PM
Guys, will you conjure me up a bubble to live in? ;-; Remember how I found out my spine was cracked? Well now I broke my foot. This is as good of a reason as any for me to fly my broom everywhere.

8  Re: August 2012 Ongoing Pinterest D&G in The Swap Gallery by MadHatteh on: September 03, 2012 09:07:27 AM
It appears my package to deathbydishes is lost in transit somewhere and as it's a holiday I cannot contact my post office until tomorrow to see if they got it yet. ): This is what I made her though, it was my first go at hand embroidering anything.

It's a fold up wallet for her hoopla-ing supplies, the blue pocket was covered in felt so she could stop her pins through it. She had pinned similar pouches and mentioned she loved rainbows so that's how I stumbled upon this.

;___; I hope I can get the package back.

This is the image I took of it sitting upon one of the shelves in my Harry Potter Shrine. I am sirusly in love with it. I wish I could sleep with it I love it so much. (In the cuddle up with sense not adult things.) I can't wait for you to get what I made you and I hope you love it as much as I love this.
