11  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / cable clutch on: March 12, 2007 07:58:37 PM
Just finished up a cable cluch for my best friend's birthday.  Let's hope she's not perusing craftster.

Due to a massive case of insomnia induced by an accidental HUGE evening cup of coffee, I finished it up late last night.

Enjoy:)

12  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Vogue Marc Jacobs Dress - very disappointing! on: March 11, 2007 10:54:28 AM
I was so excited to try out Vogue pile of flesh 1965 b/c it was for this super cute Marc Jacobs dress.  Between bad fabric choice and poor sewing skills I'm not liking the dress at all.  On the bright side, it was really easy and the fabric was left over from another project.

13  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / lion brand heart brain protector on: March 11, 2007 10:46:48 AM
Unfortunately I didn't get this finished up in time for Valentine's, but luckily I made it in green.  Let's just hope its cool next week for St. Patty's Day!  Super easy pile of flesh, but I do not recommend using a hemp thread around the heart earflaps.  The thread broke every couple stitches - ARGH!

14  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Spring break dresses on: March 03, 2007 08:14:50 PM
I sewed two new dresses for a last minute spring break trip to Puerto Vallarta.  Unfortunately these photos aren't the best.  They were taken as a touristy momento, not as a modeling session:)

Anyways, the apple dress was out of some vintage fabric from the thrift store.  The green dress started out as a tapestry from UO, became curtains for a short while, and then ended up as a dress.  I wanted the zipper to be an "accessory", inspired by the one shoulder dress Rachel Bilson wore a few months ago.  Next time, I think I'm going for the hidden zipper.

Fun stuff.

15  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Twinkle's Big City Knits: 30 Chunky-Chic Designs on: February 09, 2007 08:45:13 AM
Anyone checked out this book?  I just found it on the B&N website and am dying to go buy it!

http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbninquiry.asp?EAN=9780307346117&x=2111902

The cover sweater is fabulous - has anyone flipped through the book yet?  It's so frustrating to buy a whole book and only like a couple of patterns.

16  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Esprit merino wool capelet on: February 08, 2007 08:37:17 PM
I've been dying to knit a capelet - and have finally found one I eat.  But alas, no pile of flesh Sad

It's featured in People's Winter Style Watch and also available at this link: http://www.seenon.com/search/esprit/all/product/product/people-ultimate-gift-guide-esprit-merino-wool-capelet (kind of a small pic though).

Any ideas where I can find a similar pile of flesh?

Thanks!
