11  Re: Stash-Be-Gone-Along? in Knitalongs by bubilina on: June 24, 2007 08:39:35 PM
This didn't get me too far through my stash, I think I only finished off one skein.  I'm still searching for the perfect buttons to replace the stitch markers - it buttons closed.  I don't think I'm going to bother lining it.  As long as I don't carry anything too tiny I think the stitch is tight enough.

12  Re: Twinkle's Big City Knits Book Knitalong in Knitalongs by bubilina on: June 24, 2007 08:36:21 PM
I recently finished the evening shell - not too bad of a knit, though I did get tired of weaving in the ends from all 4 shoulder bind-offs.  And I forgot to switch to the 19's for the body, which might have affected the fit.

Here's a close up of the cabling.  The seed stitch was not as tedius as I had anticipated.

I had enough yarn left over to whip up the Aspen Hat last week in knitting club.  You can't beat a one night knit.  I still need to add the buttons.

I think i'm on to the hoodie next, debating over turquoise or yellow. . .

I made this for a baby shower gift - my fingers are still hurting from all the bobbles!  Definitely adorable, but it requires a TON of patience.  I wish I would have strung on a small bead to define the eye. . .

I thought I'd share one of my favourite and useless washcloths. The pattern is at http://www.knittingknonsense.com/bobbles_sheep.html "Bobble the Sheep" with peaches n' cream denim, its just as hard to see the sheep up close then it was to take a picture of it unfortunately. I made another one in non varigated wool and it worked out so well I gave it away, never remembering to take a picture.

14  Re: THE cutest baby booties EVER! NOW WITH HAT!!! in Knitting: Completed Projects by bubilina on: April 01, 2007 12:10:04 PM
Here's mine:

They turned out HUGE!  I think the poor kid will have to be three before he can fit into them.  Oh well, they were pretty fun to make and knitted up really quick.  The white fluffy yarn was a total pain to work with though.

Just finished up a cable cluch for my best friend's birthday.  Let's hope she's not perusing craftster.

Due to a massive case of insomnia induced by an accidental HUGE evening cup of coffee, I finished it up late last night.

Enjoy:)

16  Vogue Marc Jacobs Dress - very disappointing! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by bubilina on: March 11, 2007 10:54:28 AM
I was so excited to try out Vogue pattern 1965 b/c it was for this super cute Marc Jacobs dress.  Between bad fabric choice and poor sewing skills I'm not liking the dress at all.  On the bright side, it was really easy and the fabric was left over from another project.

17  lion brand heart hat in Knitting: Completed Projects by bubilina on: March 11, 2007 10:46:48 AM
Unfortunately I didn't get this finished up in time for Valentine's, but luckily I made it in green.  Let's just hope its cool next week for St. Patty's Day!  Super easy pattern, but I do not recommend using a hemp thread around the heart earflaps.  The thread broke every couple stitches - ARGH!

Just finished mine.  I used a boucle yarn, which hides all the lovely little details.  But I do love the color.  It didn't even use a whole skein, talk about a one skein wonder!

Is there any way we can see a detail shot of the fabric for the first one?  It looks intriguing.

here you go!  I'm so in love with this fabric!

20  Spring break dresses in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by bubilina on: March 03, 2007 08:14:50 PM
I sewed two new dresses for a last minute spring break trip to Puerto Vallarta.  Unfortunately these photos aren't the best.  They were taken as a touristy momento, not as a modeling session:)

Anyways, the apple dress was out of some vintage fabric from the thrift store.  The green dress started out as a tapestry from UO, became curtains for a short while, and then ended up as a dress.  I wanted the zipper to be an "accessory", inspired by the one shoulder dress Rachel Bilson wore a few months ago.  Next time, I think I'm going for the hidden zipper.

Fun stuff.
