2  Awesome Drawing Case from old VHS box!!! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by peddlefisher on: December 04, 2011 10:26:52 PM
Found this VHS box at Goodwill. My husband's brother's girlfriend's daughter loves to draw! I decided to make her her own drawing case fit for a young artist! I love it and am a bit jealous  Tongue

I basically just stripped it to the basics and rebuilt it. My sewing machine didn't really enjoy the cardboard, thus resulting in sub-par stitches, but she's 8 and probably won't care. Hope you enjoy it!

3  "Fanny Packin' Heat!" in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by peddlefisher on: December 19, 2009 07:39:22 PM
I came across a tutorial on Threadbangers for an awesome fanny pack (Fanny Packin' Heat as they called it Cheesy)! And being the dork that I am proud of being, I could not resist making one for myself! I am no where near an expert seamstress, but this project seemed simple enough. So, I ripped apart this $3 backpack I found at Wal-Mart,

and went through a couple sewing machine needles and a band-aid or two, but I am victorious! And the result is this rockin' fanny pack!

4  A scarf without the bulk in Crochet: Completed Projects by peddlefisher on: December 19, 2009 07:30:50 PM
I have seen many of these lovely "scarfettes" on a few different websites. I am not sure what they are called. Perhaps a button up cowl? Doesn't matter...Well, I finally made one for myself! And I love it!

Apologies for the cruddy webcam picture :oP

5  ugly XL thrift shoppe polo=killer skirt!!! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by peddlefisher on: July 05, 2009 08:42:10 PM
Found this shirt at a thrift shop in my college town. Not a flattering shirt, but an awesome skirt. Zipper was a bit difficult. The fabric kept running like pantyhose do. Looks okay though.

Here's the shirt before. I forgot to take a picture before I did anything, so this is after I made the first cut through the middle.

And this is the final project. Sorry 'bout the shower background!

Now, all I have to do is make a shirt to match!  Grin

6  10 lbs less dress!!! (my first alteration) in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by peddlefisher on: September 14, 2008 07:39:38 PM
i have always been a health nut but since i started working on my master's a couple years ago, i didn't have time to keep myself in shape or the money to buy healthy foods. i got fed up with feeling unhealthy and put my nose to the grind stone and lost 10 lbs! i bought this dress before the weightloss and now it's WAY too baggy and saggy. so i decided to make it a little more sexy to give myself back the confidence i use to have. here is the before...

and now the after!!! (my favorite part!!!)

and a side shot just to show off a little  Grin

sorry about the messy messy room!

8  ipod cozy [tiny bit gruesome and IMG heavy] in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by peddlefisher on: January 18, 2008 08:22:34 PM
i got a little tired of my ipod getting beat up at the bottom of my purse, so i made it a cozy, with an earphone pocket! i saw the cloth on etsy and fell in love with it. it is a bit sadistic. the fabric has different scenes of a rabbit causing trouble/pain for the raccoon. this one is my favorite. the rabbit set the raccoon on fire!!! enjoy!
