11  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Juno and Paulie on: November 03, 2008 08:31:17 PM
So what happens when you take a guy built like a linebacker with tattoos and a 5'10" girl with stretched earlobes and put them in costume?

This does.

And this is my man playing in his band on Halloween

And me with my friend several shots of tequila later. You can sorta see my orange shoelaces here. I got tired of wearing the hoodie after awhile.

Yup. It was good times, but the belly got in the way alot.

I made the preggo belly by cutting a rubber ball in half, stuffing it with polyfil then sewing it to the bottom half of a tshirt that I cut to wear as a belt. Then I had a tight tank top on over top to hold it to my body better, then I bought the tshirt and sewed it to fit better. The orange shoelaces were just ribbon that I wrapped the ends of with tape. I had a skirt too for over my jeans but alas, I had left it at home.

For Mike's Paulie Bleeker costume we cut up his yellow swim shorts, we got the tshirt on clearance, the head band was from when he was helping his band at Warped Tour, his wristbands were from 5 below and have unicorns and hearts on the reverse. He's also wearing his dad's old socks and cheap sneakers, that are size 15, which is a size too big, but he dealt. He also had tic tacs but we ate them all. Yum.

Alot of my friends thought I was actually pregnant, and more annoyingly alot of drunk annoying skanky girls thought I was pregnant too and were like shrieking about it. Oy vey. "You shouldn't be PARTYING if you're PREGNANT! *giggle giggle collapse*"

anyway, enjoy!

If I get into better shape I was to do a sexier costume, just cause I never have and a girl should have license to do a sexy costume at least once. I was thinking belly dancer or something, not like sexy-"insert everyday thing".
12  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Punk Rock Prom in a pinch on: August 25, 2008 07:04:53 PM
Okay, I made this awhile ago but here goes: so I bought red and white gingham fabric and red with white polka dot fabric at Joann's. My boyfriend's band was playing two shows in two days near me and one of them was a "punk rock prom". It wasn't really a prom, it was just an excuse for kids to dress up. I used to hear about this show when I was in high school but never went. So I made a skirt real fast and wore it with a zipper up corsetty thing on top and took photos of Mike's band the whole time. Whoot!

First part/in progress:

I didn't like the length and It needed more awesomeness.

Finished!

So I chopped a few inches off the bottom and added the red fabric with white polka dots and made it more ruffly in the back. The band is from a dark red tshirt that was huuuuge.

Side shot.

It's still a little big, needs to grip on my hips better but I can fix that later. People liked it and I do too.

See? They're dressed up too. Mike is the guy on the top right.

Thanks for looking  Grin
13  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Boyfriend's Band's tshirt- Now featuring side panels! on: August 25, 2008 06:48:03 PM
Inspired by pinkypurple I decided to fix this shirt. My boyfriend's band got tshirts done and I got one, but it fit weird, so I gave it some life!  Cheesy

So here it is!

Here is a close up of the fabric I used. It was from a remnant at Joann's and I fell in love with it but had no idea what to use it for.

I love it! I have another shirt I am going to do tomorrow probably.

15  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Bravery is a Two piece on: May 18, 2008 08:43:38 PM
So I like to make little outfits to wear for my boyfriend. He gets a kick out of it, I feel good about myself and my sewing machine gets work. Everybody's happy. My first outfit I haven't posted yet, but this is my second. It started as: PANTS. Pajama pants that were awkwardly fitted. So I cut them up and made little short shorts and a little bikini top. I do not have a bikini body under any circumstances except for in front of my boyfriend, but after many many photos I have got a few I am willing to post. Because I <3 craftster. Le sigh. Now on to the photos. Excuse the stomach and skin.

PS The straps were a little too long so I tied them together behind my neck with a ribbon, which i'm kind of digging now. Oh and the vertical seams were all there already I just brought them in more.

Here is the whole thing:

The butt! Oh my gosh! Sorry, but I wanted everyone to see the little tucks I did on either side.

The side of the shorts:

The top in all it's glory. Ribbons tied on. The tops is all from the pantlegs. Mmhmmm!

The back!

And another of the back so you can see the main strap better. I know it's uneven, but meh, it works for me:

Thanks for looking!!!

16  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Mother's Day Tote Bag-hip flowers on: May 18, 2008 05:02:19 PM
So I found a great big piece of heavy fabric at walmart when I was prowling the remnant bin and thus was my mom's mother's day present born...

And me holding it.

she likes it very much and has been using to carry all of her things into work and back. Muahaha. I have enough to make at least one more too.
17  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Stars and Flowers Wallet on: March 25, 2008 04:37:02 PM
This is my second attempt at a wallet. I'm pretty happy with it.  Grin

I got the fabric from a supply swap a little while back and I really loved these two.

It's got two rows of card slots, a place to put cash, when I have cash. Haha. No closure yet though, if I put one on.
18  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Pink hat for a little critter-to-be on: March 17, 2008 09:33:59 PM
My mom's coworker is having her first baby, a girl, and they are having a baby shower for her tomorrow at work before she leaves to go on maternity leave next week. So! My mom enlisted me to make a little hat to go along with the presents she bought. I just finished it! Whoo...I need some sleep.

Here it is modeled sitting on my knee.

And modeled on a fake grapefruit I bought especially to size the hat. Yep. Let's hope it fits.

19  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Wizard Twins' Hats on: July 17, 2007 06:09:57 PM
I've been getting ready for the midnight book release of Deathly Hallows and my brothers wanted hats to wear, so here they are in all of their twinly goodness.

unfolded.

folded.

standing on end.

I wanted to add bells or something to them, but I don't think they will let me.
20  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / My new hat. I'm so...happy! on: June 20, 2007 12:51:25 PM
I made this hat for myself cause even though it is summer it is never too early to have a good hat ready for winter. I'm so tired of hats that don't fit or look awful, especially because the walk to and from the train in winter is kinda freezing. No more!
