11  Re: Stuff a Small Box for Halloween Rnd 2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by BadWolf on: September 28, 2012 05:09:24 PM
I got a box stuffed full of awesomeness from MissingWillow when I got home from work. Best way to end a work day!

My cat, Remus, digging the scene. He thoroughly sniffed the box before I opened it.

It's a tea wallet! I've always wanted one and I love the little bat on the front! Bats have special meaning in my home, because there were two flying around in here a couple months ago. Nothing a ginger cat couldn't handle. This wallet is taking up residence in my back pack ASAP.

Here's an inside peek of the tea wallet, which MissingWillow filled with delicious autumn selections. I can't wait to try ALL OF THEM. I loooove tea. I drink it everyday, so this is perfect Smiley

MOAR TEA! At this point I started doing my happy dance right on my balcony.

Apparently I don't have a photo of it, but there was a little black cauldron with a lid and there were some goodies inside! Atomic fireballs (The Musician snatched these up, he said they remind him of his childhood), a tiny black plastic spider, skull bead, aaaand today's show is hosted by the letter H!

It's Snoopy! On a pumpkin! I put this on as soon as the photo was taken. Watching Linus wait for The Great Pumpkin every fall is a tradition!

Lots of embroidery thread and a glow in the dark skeleton! I've hung up the skeleton next to a painting in the living room, so at night it should give us a little start, muahahaha. I'm so glad she sent the thread, because I'm running out and I use it to tie on buttons to neckwarmers and to sew buttons onto pants Smiley

Ah, ze piece de resistance! Halloween bunting! I. LOVE. IT! I have always wanted bunting and now I have it! It's two sided, black with candy corn on one side and the orange with spiders on the reverse, so I can switch it around if I want to change it up in here!

Our walls are so bare still, but here it is hung up! Thank you so much, MissingWillow! I can't wait to finish and send yours!

12  Scarves, hat, neck warmers - 7 Christmas Gifts Done So Far in Crochet: Completed Projects by BadWolf on: August 29, 2012 09:07:52 AM
I've been making Christmas gifts since June, I've got 7 finished so far. The photos aren't great, but I think they're clear enough.

Note: I've technically been crocheting for 10 years, but I got all mixed up when I was taught by my right handed Aunt (I'm left handed) and while my stitches didn't look right I just kept going. It still made stuff and didn't look awful. Then I stopped for awhile. I finally found a video on youtube that made it impossibly clear to me why my crocheted stitches didn't look like crocheted stitches. So, ten years later I've finally got the single crochet down.

Navy blue and gray scarf for my brother-in-law's fiancee.

Gryffindor color scarf for my brother-in-law. I made him a red scarf 3 years ago for Christmas, but I ran out of yarn, so it was a bit short. I promised him I'd make him a proper one someday. Muahaha...

Brown 100% wool scarf for my Dad. It's lion brand fisherman's wool. He and I both really like wool. My Dad is a mail man and is very outdoorsy, so I always make him something warm, but I think this is my best yet.

Teal hat made with Stitch Nation yarn. This one's for my brother's (Twin B) girlfriend, whom he lives with. I made her some rice bags last year (first Christmas we knew her).

Ice blue, navy blue, and magenta/red scarf for Twin A's girlfriend. This is the first Christmas since we've known her. My brother says she likes all colors and I liked this combination.

Neck warmer for my Dad's wife. I made her a flannel scarf last year. Close ups of buttons, because I love them!

Neck warmer for my brother(Twin B) with close up of button. I made him a chestnut/dark orange one last year, so he requested another one for this year in another earth tone.

Me! I made a blue double wrapped cowl neck warmer for myself with Merino Wool Blend yarn. I love how it came out. Muahaha...

Thanks for looking!

13  Re: Dia de los Muertos / Mexican Folk Art Swap GALLERY (send outs 5/30) in The Swap Gallery by BadWolf on: June 05, 2011 08:56:27 PM
Heyo! I received from erica a few days ago. I received the most amazing package ever, and it was so sweet of her to send to me since my poor partner is currently indisposed. I was rocking back and forth, giggling in glee while I unpacked my goodies, I kid you not.

First of all there was this SWEET shrine that is naked. Why is it naked? SO I CAN PUT ALL OF THESE GOODIES IN IT!!!!!

Instant Shrine!

Yea, yea look at this stuff. AMAZING. What's that? You can't see everything? HERE ARE SOME CLOSE-UPS! Cheesy

I cannot wait to glue all of this stuff in there and make it SO purty! I'm going to turn on The Milagro Beanfield War and just flue to my heart's content! Oh, also it came wrapped in this sa-weet fabric:

OH. MY. GOSH. Jose Pulido meets Harry Potter. See the glasses? The wand? Robes and tie? Lightning scar? That's right. Here's some background. I love Harry Potter. It goes beyond normal. My wedding was Harry Potter themed.

Love the scar and glasses!

What's that? He's on a golden snitch. OH YES!

The back is so clean and tidy! Mad skills!

Check, check, check it out! The same rocking design on a tshirt for my husband. He loves it! He's been living in it pretty much and has earned a place on his top shirts list. Also goes along with his skull/skeleton tattoos!

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG. IT'S AN EFFIN' AWESOME HOODIE WITH THE SAME DESIGN! And it's all miiiiiine. Purrrrrrrrr. It was actually cool enough that I could wear it the day it arrived. JOY!

I forgot to take a pic, but she also sent along a BIG bag of horchata mix!

I'm so trying this in the morning. It looks so tasty! Actually, I might just have a glass now. Thank you sooooo much, Erica! I love, LOVE everything! You rock!

14  Painted Sunglasses Photoshoot! in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by BadWolf on: August 11, 2010 06:17:44 PM
I have not posted in SO LONG. I did a few series of photos just for fun and my blog, so here they are! These are some of my favorites and I can't wait to do more! Muahaha!

EDIT: I should probably mention that the model (my friend Andrew) and I painted all of the sunglasses. It was great fun going to 5below, buying a ton of sunglasses and then buying paints and just sitting on the floor painting away.

Got my super sweet package the other day!

An awesome red felt envelope to pass notes to my Future Husband! This is so cute, I can't wait for Mike to come over so I can give him a note Cheesy

If you turn your head to the right you will see Tom Riddle's Diary, complete with kick ass Slytherin crest! This is going on my bookshelf to look awesome, and I might even use it in our Harry Potter inspired wedding somehow...muahaha.

Here is the title page to the diary declaring it's former owner:

An awesome embroidery job! This will be hanging over our bed after we get married and get a place to live. I am seriously impressed by this, therefore multiple photos:

Lastly, my favorite. I have wanted an awesome hat like this for AGES. I continue to stink at making hats, and I have no patience for knitting. My partner is $%^&ing AMAZING!

That last photo isn't so good cause our light is no good, but it is a purple color and I have been wearing it ever since it came in the mail. It fits perfectly! Everything I received is completely my style.

Thanks partner!!! <3 <3 <3

17  The Crafting of a Harry Potter Wedding - PICTURE HUGE! in Weddings and Bridal Showers by BadWolf on: November 03, 2009 10:49:04 AM
Well! I've been married since June 5th, so it's high time I post photos, especially since Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows just came out and I've seen it twice including the midnight opening and I want to see it MOAR!!!  Grin Grin Grin

Also, sorry if the pics are huge.

We bought a ton of mismatched lanterns for the tables and made parchment cards with names of locations in the world of Harry Potter

I found a ton of vintage keys and tied velvet ribbon on each using colors from the Hogwarts houses for fast, but awesome boutennieres

Mike folded these origami flowers as well as hundreds of lucky stars. The flowers were made from pages of Harry Potter and the stars were house colors again

We found photoshop brushes of banners to make placecards and for whatever reason I went crazy and wrote them all by hand. Ouch.

I made all of our bouquets using Kangaroo Paw, Blue Thistle, orange spray roses, red and pink yarrow,

Cupcakes! I made two dozen cupcakes and several other people brought them as well. We had so many cupcakes!!!

Our handfasting cords. The green one belongs to Mike's parents and the red/gold one is ours. I bought the cord and added shells and other trinkets to it.

I don't think I've ever seen a guestbook at a married friend's house. It just takes up space somewhere, so we designed a poster for guests to sign that we'll frame and hang when we get a place to live Cheesy

My friend/bridesmaid(not shown) made these feathery hair clips the night before the wedding. Anxiety!

We designed and printed out all of our programs. You can't see it here, but I punched a hole at the top of each one and tied a piece of gold or purple ribbon.

We lost many people the year before we got engaged. Mike's dad passed away suddenly in the fall. My grandmother passed away on Valentine's Day. Mike's grandmother then passed away before Easter. My other grandmother has advanced alzheimers and is in a home. Amongst other losses from several years ago. So! We set up a small shrine to these relatives, to have a place for them.

I made all of our bouquets using Kangaroo Paw, pink and red yarrow, blue thistle, orange spray roses, wheat,

Our little lanterns girls and boy carried tiny lanterns we got at Target and we wrapped the handles in ribbon

Instead of slaving over favors we had a little fun and filled all kinds of jars with jelly belly jelly beans: Bertie Botts style! I stamped lots of little paper bags for people to fill up Cheesy We also had a bunch of jelly candies from Lindt and Lindt truffles I bought for half price!

I made all the jewelry for the bridesmaids, me(not pictured), lantern girls, etc...The first two earrings had no hooks when I took the pics...
