21  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: The Poppet Mini Swap Round 2 (Sign-ups April 28th-May 12th) (Send-by June 14th) on: May 21, 2010 05:34:12 AM
I finally put needle to fabric yesterday! I'm pretty excited. The sewing part always goes pretty quickly for me. Now I just have to hope it all turns out how I want it to. Although I have plenty of fabric, just in case it doesn't. Not at all because I felt I needed extra to make myself a poppet in this color sometime.  Cool

I'm behind too. But we DO have until June 14th to send. I need to get done a bit before that as I'm going to NYC June 10th -15th. That said, I still haven't done much more than prepare to get started. I have ideas sketched out. Freezer paper pattern pieces cut out and fabric ready to be cut. But I haven't 100% dediced on hair or outfits. And obviously there is also still the sewing and stuffing. Since it's raining here today, I will most likely have time to work on this tonight. Yay! But also boo, since I really really also need to weed my garden.

Oh SQUEEEE!!!! I can hardly wait to meet my new poppet!!! I must begin obsessively checking the tracking number!!!

I hope you don't mind waiting a bit as I'm still in the planning/cutting stages. I know what the poppet herself is going to look like - I have eyes planned and skin and all that, but not sure on hair/clothes yet. At least nothing definitive. But she's going to be pretty awesome. I think you'll really like her. She'll surely be worth the wait.  Grin

OMG - I feel so far behind now! I've purchased fabric and thread, and planned a bunch, but have yet to actually set needle and thread to fabric!

LOL@PMS instead of PMs.  Cheesy   I found fabric today, not sure if I'll have time to start actual work yet. Still somewhat planning. Plenty of time, though. I'm pretty excited about the super color of fabric I found. I think you're going to love it, averyg!

She's adorable! Did you knit her dress/jumper? It's really cute!

I love the dragon!!! He looks fantastic! Is that a pattern you created? That is so cool!

The poppet and kitties are super adorables as well!

What a great swap!

Oh, btw, Ginny the lamb is made from the Tiny Amigurumi Animals book, but instead of yarn and whatever hook they called for, I used embroidery floss and the hook that looked the correct size. I honestly don't know which one it was, I just selected one from my steel hooks. The embroidery floss was a little splitty, but I think the result was worth it in the end. Smiley

Yay for partners! I am still brainstorming, but I have a very good idea of what I'd like to make for averyg. Just have to see if I have the supplies on hand and if not, if I can find fabric in the color I'd like. Smiley

I received!!! I got the BEST stuff ever! Thanks so much, quaisior!!! This stuff rocks so much!

BEWARE IMAGE HEAVY!!!

It's one of my Blythe dolls with an adorable hedgehog!

Her hat was one of the extras. It's so stinkin' cute!!! Absolutely my favorite Blythe hat that I own!

She also made me a super sweet fox! And the swanky boa that Fred is wearing in the picture.

The fox is way too adorable for just one picture. He needs a close up. Oh, his name is Fineas Fox, btw.

And she made this cute little sweater top for my Blythe dolls as another extra! Love the color! <3

And a bonus shot of Magill hanging out with Henrietta and Fineas in her swap goodies.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU QUAISIOR!!! Cheesy  Cheesy   Cheesy   Cheesy

I love both of the fish. Bettas and goldies are my favoritest fishies! And that fan-tail is amazing! The sea dragon is also very very cool. I cannot wait to see what I got. It should be waiting for me at home. I'll be there in less than an hour, so probably pictures from me this evening!
