1  Re: The Poppet Mini Swap Round 2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by McBec27 on: May 23, 2010 07:20:19 PM
Ok, I did warn y'all there would be more pictures, so don't say I didn't! Smiley

And yes, before we go any farther, Mooglie, the hedgehog, is too adorable for words. So. Stinkin. CUTE! And, I didn't even introduce my poppet, did I??? Well, I was in a terrible hurry, but still, so very sorry! Her name is Amarinth. And she's a bohemian hippy fairy poppet. I love her!!! Smiley  And averyg did a wonderful job packing her and wrote the nicest notes and everything, and I was a very impatient package opener, so you'll just have to take my word for it. Smiley

But, PICTURES!!!

This is Amarinth with her friend Mooglie. Did you notice her fabulous jewelry??? Wow! I have no skills in that department, so totally impressed and excited to see jewelry!

Here she is showing off her really pretty wings. My sister and I weren't sure at first if they were store bought or made, but upon closer inspection, I think they're homemade! Wow! And don't they look great on her? Again, I'm in awe of averyg's mad skills!

Can you spot the small difference in this picture? It's the belt. averyg said she and her family couldn't decide what fabric to use, so she sent both.

And, averyg even included a couple of extras! Some jewelry for me to match my poppet. Wow! And you did all this in like two days??? Amazing...

I had to take two sets of pictures this morning because I didn't make sure the camera settings were all right before I took the first set. I'm still not as pleased as I could be with the color in these. She's closest to the color in the first picture of this group. But I am glad I got out there and got the photos taken because I definitely wanted to share the awesomeness!

Fighting with Flickr and I've run out of time, so this is all for right now, but there are more.

Ok, I promise you there would be more explaination and stuff if I were not already late for where I need to be. More later tonight! Smiley

I received!!! I got the BEST stuff ever! Thanks so much, quaisior!!! This stuff rocks so much!

BEWARE IMAGE HEAVY!!!

It's one of my Blythe dolls with an adorable hedgehog!

Her hat was one of the extras. It's so stinkin' cute!!! Absolutely my favorite Blythe hat that I own!

She also made me a super sweet fox! And the swanky boa that Fred is wearing in the picture.

The fox is way too adorable for just one picture. He needs a close up. Oh, his name is Fineas Fox, btw.

And she made this cute little sweater top for my Blythe dolls as another extra! Love the color! <3

And a bonus shot of Magill hanging out with Henrietta and Fineas in her swap goodies.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU QUAISIOR!!! Cheesy  Cheesy   Cheesy   Cheesy

Congrats to averyg!!!! Cheesy

And nice poppet, Beth! Are those my Paige ears, I recognize??? She looks awesome and glad to hear your daughter is enjoying her.

Oh, and by the way, if anyone else is interested, here ya go!

I'm trying to post it original size, but not sure how it will turn out. The length from the point to either end is about 4" and the width between the two end points is about 2 3/4". Also, I have a PDF that I can email if anyone is interested. Smiley

5  Re: We Love our Blythes and Pullips Swap Round 7 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by McBec27 on: September 10, 2009 08:21:24 PM
I'm soooo excited!!!! Received the most awesome swap package today from Lothruin!!! Me and the dolls loved ALL of it so very much.

Incoming pics!!! (Please forgive the bad indoor lighting, I don't have a lot of time in the upcoming week and wanted my swap angel to know how excited I was to receive, so pictures had to be done tonight.)

Dusty the Dal claimed one of the three hats. It goes quite nicely with her stock, which I STILL haven't changed her out of. Plus it covers up her messed up hair. I swear this poor doll is one of my more neglected.

Kimi knew right away that she HAD to have this dress. The color is stunning on her and she loves the vintage fabric. The pants are also from Lothruin and look really great with the dress. (Oh, and the dress in real life is a bit more of a teal color than it's showing up in this lighting.)

Zee saw the black skirt, and immediately called dibs. She does that with everything black. Luckily she shares nicely. And she looks so good in black, that it's really hard to argue with her over ownership and such.

Next up is my fave, the hat made from Lothruin's own homespun yarn. Well, one of two hats made from one of TWO homespuns!!! But this one truly is my fave. Probably partially b/c Tuesday claimed it and she's my fave too. Smiley Anyways, it rocks. There's a small brim that is kind of hard to see in this picture. So cute!

Um, yes, so cute you need to see it closer up. Smiley

Kimi showing off the third and final hat. Also made from homespun (which, by the way, looks so professionally done that I would have had no idea it wasn't store bought yarn if the nice little note it came with did not say so).

And last, but certainly not least, BMK (Bad Mother Kanga). She's looking in on Conifer Jane. See, she's a sidekick. CJ's a super hero (she'd be so upset that I blew her cover just there). But she's kinda in the process of being customized. Ummmm, she may have been in this state for over a month now. I've been super busy. I hope to get her head apart sometime soon. If anyone has advice on SBL head opening, LMK.

Ummm, one more thing...she also send some really cute black stockings/socks. I've lost them. I fear they may have been eaten by the dogs. I feel horrible and spent probably close to an hour looking for them, but they are nowhere to be found (as of yet). Hopefully I just set them down somewhere completely silly. I do that kind of thing all the time. But I have no idea where right now. And it's really bothering me.

Anyway, thanks again so very very much Lothruin for being such a super great swap angel. If I get a chance, I'll try to take some pictures in better lighting at some point. And maybe a group shot. Smiley

I finally finished my second poppet! She's got her own thread here - http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=318318.msg3667874#msg3667874, but here's a sneak picture anyways.

I'm sooo happy with how she turned out! Cheesy

7  Presenting Paige the Pretty Poppet in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by McBec27 on: August 23, 2009 03:04:37 PM
I finally finished an outfit for Paige, so I can introduce her properly now. She's my second poppet and this time around I tried the latch hook crocheted wig method for her hair. It works, but I think I'm going to stick to wefts for my poppets. I like having a little more control and a part line and stuff. She might still get more hair added at some point. I still have a bunch of that yarn. Anyway, without further ado, here she is. Hope you like her.

Doesn't she have the sweetest face? The only thing I'd change is that next time I'm going to put wire in the ears to make them poseable. Smiley

Here she's relaxing after her photo shoot. She was tired, even though it wasn't a very long shoot.

Gimp (the photo editor I used) turned her black and white as I was exiting this picture. I caught a glimpse and decided to go back and do it on purpose.

I did mess up her skirt a little bit - this is just the easy peasy dress pattern that comes with the poppet pattern now (thanks Ghilie!), but I did two layers of skirt. And this fabric was kind of fiddly and wanted to gather itself. So the bottom skirt layer looks kind of like bloomers, but I'm ok with that.

Let me know what you think!

8  Emily the Skunk in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by McBec27 on: August 09, 2009 03:40:20 PM
I bought this pattern a while ago from Owlishly on Etsy and finally finally finally got around to making her. I'm so excited and happy with how she turned out, that I thought I would share with everyone!

Here's Emily the Skunk. I was really not so surprised when she told me her name as I was finishing her b/c it seems everyone I've met this summer has been named Emily. Her mouth is kind of hard to see - she has kind of pale lips.

All right, I'm posting pics of what I sent to my partner. I've not heard from her in a while and she received last week. Dreambelle, I hope everything is ok?

She had two dolls and I made two outfits for each of them as well as beanbag chairs for both b/c she has a little bookshelf house for them.

Here's Tuesday showing off the classy outfit for Dreambelle's Aubrey Hepburn-esque doll.

Winifred modeling the Hello Kitty dress:

Daphne in a summery dress:

Kimi in a little sweater and skirt set:

And, everyone together.

I also included a few other extras, but didn't take shots of everything together. Dreambelle can include those in her pics if she wants. It was a few Hello Kitty things and some Re-ment I had extras of.

10  Re: We Love our Blythes and Pullips Swap Round 7 (signups end 6/10) (send by 7/13) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by McBec27 on: June 09, 2009 06:05:13 AM
I got a couple pictures yesterday, but I only had time to take pictures of two of my girls.

Here's Zee, my Zuora Pullip (she's showing off her new kimono - handmade, but unfortunately not by me)

And here's Conifer Jane, my Enchanted Petal Blythe. She's a super hero, but so far she's only got the secret identity clothes. Smiley

I couldn't decide who needed clothes and stuffs the most, so my questionaire lists a lot more dolls than this, but I figure this is at least a start for piccies.
