1  New bib for la petite Acadienne in Crochet: Completed Projects by Lunatic84 on: June 02, 2008 03:18:53 PM
Ok, so my french sucks, but I think the bib turned out awesome!  My boyfriend's cousin is due in July and the baby shower is this weekend.  I can't wait for all their family to see this bib, it's going to be so fun!  I also added the rest of the gifts in the knitting section ( http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=249489.0 )

Comments and criticisms welcome, as always!

2  New babies need new stuff...right? (image HEAVY!) in Knitting: Completed Projects by Lunatic84 on: June 02, 2008 03:03:13 PM
Yup, thats how I am justifying all of the time that I have spent knitting in the last few weeks!  My BF's cousin is having a little girl due on July 5th, and the baby shower is this Saturday and I have been getting ready for at least the last month.
I bought Itty-Bitty hats for one hat in particular, but ended up making 3 from the book...just for starters of course!
There are 4 hats, 3 sets of booties and 1 blanket.  I would love to hear comments/criticisms Smiley  Thanks for looking!

4  My first socks! in Knitting: Completed Projects by Lunatic84 on: March 02, 2008 12:36:05 PM
I recently finished my first pair of socks and I am very excited about it.  I'm giving them to my sister for Easter.  They are made from f.pea's pattern for footies: http://fpea.blogspot.com/2007/04/free-pattern-friday-footies.html
I used Paton's Kroy in Tutti Frutti and I only used 1 skein and about 5 meters from the second skein.

Comments and criticisms welcome!

6  My very first knit projects!!! (Img heavy) in Knitting: Completed Projects by Lunatic84 on: February 02, 2008 08:11:41 PM
I recently taught myself to knit (something other than a rectangle...I lost interest after 5-10 rows every time I tried before this), and I decided that I was going to jump right in, with both hands!

I started with Bev's "The Mitts"  ( http://www.bevscountrycottage.com/the-mitts.html )  and decided that I just didn't like the way they looked.  They turned out well, I am just not a fan of the numerous holes around the thumb.  Anyways, here is the finished product:

I can't decide which I like better, when it is inside out, or right side out....  I used one strand of Briggs and Little Sport in Peacock and one strand of a cream colored baby yarn.

The other project I did, I am terribly excited about!!!  It's the first time I tried dpns, and they turned out awesome!!  I made Newfie Mitts!  I used this pattern:
http://creativewhimsy.wordpress.com/patterns/newfoundland-mitts/
The first pair I did with plain ol' acrylic because I didn't want to use the good stuff just frog it a hundred times....but it turns out I didn't have to!  I used aran and chocolate coloured acrylic...not sure of the brand, but here  they are:

My mom absolutely loved them, and her birthday being next weekend, I decided to make her a pair of special ones.  I used the same aran colour, but I paired it with a blue fun fur held together with a strand of matching red heart soft touch.  I only have one done as of now, but here it is in all it's glory!!

Sorry for being so word-y, but I am so excited that I actually made these!  I wanted to learn how to knit just to make these when I was younger.

Comments and criticisms are always welcome!

Thanks again atroxsilentium, you were a huge help in the pattern reading process!
