1  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Hundreds of buttons from the 50's and 60's? on: March 08, 2009 07:47:54 PM
I really like the idea of them as wall art rather than something on fabric, their too special to just be sewn on something willy-nilly! I'm really jealous,  that's a fantastic lot.

I think they might not be uniform enough for a portrait type thing but I think something a little more abstract would still be cool wall art while showing off the buttons more.  For very different buttons like this I think the drought relief type thing is better than the portrait or anything where the buttons are split up.  That way the piece is about the buttons rather than the buttons being about the piece.  Good luck! and I hope you post the final product here so we can all see it!
2  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Latest News / Re: 7/16/08 - New ads being shown on Craftster on: March 05, 2009 10:28:40 AM
i'm getting the same ad on my mac and it TALKS it's so obnoxious! I'm sure it's not a spyware problem, my school has very strenuous rules about protecting your computer and I've never had a problem with it before.

7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Stuffed beer hop! on: March 01, 2009 05:34:23 AM
This was for a swap a while ago, the lady wanted a stuffed beef hop for her beer brewing DB.

I did it with soy yarn so it was a bit fluffier, and that made it curl more, and I did it from a heavily modified version of a pattern for an artichoke.

Here's what a hop looks like in case you don't know! Their dried and used in the making of beer.

8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Fingerless gloves for my boy... on: March 01, 2009 05:17:29 AM
2 year anniversary present! For my boy with the big, cold hands.

He loves them and wears them all the time! It was a great pattern, and the stretch alot for his huge hands!
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Amelia Earhart Cashmere on: March 01, 2009 04:55:40 AM
This may be my favorite thing I've ever made.  It's soft and yummy and cute and warm and I get complimented on it EVERY time I wear it, and I wear it alot!

It's so fabulous I'm planning on making a second one!

10  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Chunky Book Swap Rd 2? on: February 26, 2009 05:15:58 PM
I really love the idea  of having everyone receive a book on the subject they wish, i think that would make everything more interesting too, for the makers, being challenged with different subjects/themes.  I can't wait for this!
