I absolutely adore this little squrrel! I had to post another pic to also show off his adorableness.

see how he fits right in your hand? he's just perfect, from his sweet face to the awesome texture on his tail.

and I think this side shot shows off the teeny tiny acorn on the bow on his side.

I love the detail, thank you so much Pupper!

Wow! so many great little things sent and received in this swap! I'm so happy to be a part of it.

I received my lovely package from grimmscreed this weekend! I love my little items, so cute!
First are these sweet little earrings:

I love the little green flowers, and they have just a hint of sparkle to them. I'm wearing them now.
The fab Grimscreed also made me a cozy for my coffee cup. I have a ceramic version of the classic disposable cup that I carry all over town.  Now it will be sporting this sweet cozy.

I love squirrels, I love the color green, and I love big funky buttons, so this is just perfect for me!
HEre's an action shot:

fits like a glove!

Thanks so much!

3  Zipped up Earbuds in Completed Projects by LauPre on: February 10, 2010 12:42:52 PM

I sewed the wires of my earbuds into this crazy purple and gold zipper to protect the wires from tangling and breakage.  I think it looks pretty neat, too!

I simply separated the wires all the way down to the plug, then sewed each wire along one side of the zipper.  Just fold the zipper tape in half towards the wrong side and use a running stitch to enclose the wire inside.

Keep them zipped in your bag, then unzip them when it's time to enjoy your tunes.

I received my sweet package from meowari!
She made me this cute whale covered notebook.

The inside is also beautiful with these textured pages.

She also made me a cute whale stamp, and a bookmark with the stamp on it, all pretty and sparkly!

Thank you so much Meowari! I love them!

Poyupop, I had a great time meeting up to swap at the hub on sunday! That was fun.  I would've gotten these photos posted sooner, but I came down with a cold, and when I'm sick I'm just a big baby Smiley. Anyway, I'm feeling better now and I'm happy to share my happy crafty goodies!
First up, check out these happy little people:

so cute.
Then there's this lovely amigurumi lady who is so sweet! She's adorable and looks totally ready for fall.

Next is a fabulous cafe apron featuring my favorite ac neighbor in patch form. This is perfect for me right now since I'm in a transitional period with my crafting space for a while.  I actually have my machines set up in my bedroom, my cutting mat on the living room floor, and my ironing board outside on the back porch.  it's ridiculous, I know, but it means that this will come in handy carrying my tools back and forth from station to station. Smiley

And saving my favorite for last,  Wink

A perfect little purse featuring my little character! she's got the haircut, and even has my lucky clover in her hair. I pulled out the bag and said, "This is so me!" besides having "my" face on it, it's also made of some prints that I just love and it's just the right size for my essentials.  I immediately started using this bag and have showed it off to everyone.  I love it.
It's got a patchwork of fabrics throughout, and has some perfect pocket just under the flap.

Thanks again, Poyupop I love it all and I'll look forward to meeting up with you again in the future!

7  Re: Traveling Scarf Swap Gallery! (Round 10) in The Swap Gallery by LauPre on: July 26, 2009 11:50:12 AM
I've got elociNNicole's block finished, and I really like it.  I went to the Knittn' Kitten before the Crafty Vixen's meetup last week and found this great vintage yarn.  It's Egyptian cotton and has a great feel.  Because it's so smooth I knew it had to be knitted up with a nice textural design so I went with these "bow-tie" cables.  I used my knitting machine again, and I think I'm getting better at it.

And how it fits in with the rest of the scarf:

I'll be getting this out in the mail tomorrow, then I'll get started on Myklia's
I can't believe how close we are to being done and I can't wait to see my scarf
(It's been quite a few rounds now since it's had it's picture posted, ah the suspense!)

I received my beautiful quilt from Arimethia.  Take a look:

It's so pretty, right? I loved it as soon as I pulled it out of the envelope.  It has such great fabrics and a real mod abstract vibe.  and look at all those lovely hand stitches!

Did you notice this one red square? It was explained to me in Arimethia's note.  The red square is the block I live in.  The blue and pink bias strips are two highways, and each the fabric pieces are blocks in my neighborhood! How creative is that? She looked up my address on google maps and quilted me my neighborhood.  I can see the park I go to all the time, the Joann's down the street, and the grocery store where I get my food.

I've been showing it to everyone I know.  Everyone likes it, but as soon as I point to the strips and name them with their streets they totally get it and are amazed.

Thanks for this lovely quilt! I will cherish it!

A knitting machine is fine as long as you PM me and tell me how it actually works.  Wink I've always seen them on Craftster and stuff, but I'm always like  Huh.

Oh cool.  Since you asked, I took a bunch of photos of it today and posted them up on my blog.  Sadly, my explanation is probably pretty lame so I don't know if it'll help you understand, but I think the pictures came out cool.  Grin

click the link if you'd like to see more photos of my machine and my feeble attempt at explaining something that I swear has to be at least 80% magic.

oooooh! Cuppiecake's scarf looks great! I am loving the teal and brown, and that last piece, with the variegated looks especially cool.

Here's the section I added to PuppyGirl's scarf:

Look! I made kinda half cables!  I'm really excited because I love the look and feel of knitting but never can seem to do it.  I found an old Brother knitting machine in a thrift store last week and got it for $8.  Can you believe my luck? It works perfectly so once I learned how to use it with some practice swatching I was able to make this square.  I hope using the knitting machine is okay for the swap, I figured it'd be fine since it's still hand worked.  All those stitches for the lacey effect and the cables all have to be moved one by one by hand.

Here's an overall shot of the scarf:

cheers!
