2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / help finding patterns/what to sew for going to be 19 bf's bday on: June 22, 2005 10:10:23 PM
subject pretty much explains it... my bf said he would love more than anything for me to make him something... as in sewing something..... most patterns are just.... well, dorky for guys.... he likes having things that are a bit unique... (e.g. we made a bunch of band patches and i sewed them onto a pair of his jeans, and fixed the bottom of the legs with a band of black canvas)

i'm at a loss for what to sew!! i have two weeks (his bday is july 6th)... please help! even if it's a website with ideas of stuff.

if you have any questions to help with ideas, just ask and i'll answer
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / 80's day.... need ideas! on: September 22, 2004 03:56:58 AM
yay... spirit week at my school... tomorrow (thursday) is 80's day, but, sadly, i was born at the end of the 80's, so i'm not quite sure what to wear and such.... i figure there have to be some 80s kids here.... i'm willing to sew things if needed or make a quick run out to a thrift store or something... so yes, ideas would be GREAT! thanks Smiley

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / bringing back the uniform.... ideas needed! on: September 07, 2004 03:06:05 PM
first day of school tomorrow, and i'm in quite the mood for dressing abnormal.... or like the elementary kids in my school that still have to wear a uniform.....

i want to basically wear my old school uniform, but "spruced up".... i have a plaid skirt that looks like a uniform skirt that i took the waistband off of and sewed a ribbon around the top so that it sits on my hips rather than the "dent" i have at my waist....

here's where i need nifty ideas... i have all my old school blouses... white, oxford collar, two shortsleeve and one long... and i also have a white polo shirt.... they basically still fit me well (though seethrough). i want to do something to one of them to wear tomorrow... but i'm fresh out of ideas, and was wondering if anyone could help me.......

side note: i am not a girly girl, can't stand pink, not too fond of preppyness (hence one of the reasons for wanting to change the blouse) i do have a sewing machine, and could probably make a quick run to super-walmart if i needed ribbon or something

thanks muchly! if you would like pictures of the blouses or the skirt, let me know and i can post some
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / skirt/"wrap" thing..... ooh shiney! on: August 25, 2004 09:01:20 PM
oi descriptions!!!

so i found this lovely fabric in a box of such one of my friend's gave me.... though it would make a cool skirt... and since i have no talent in not using patterns (and there wouldn't be enough fabric for one) i..... velcroed!!! one can wear it alone or over pants or something... i plan on putting a hook & eye on the skirt near the knees so that it will stay closed and not reveal so much
hope the pictures work!

(don't mind the tummy)  Wink

and i implore you.... do NOT use velcro with a sticky back and expect to have fun sewing it on... it's just a big mess
6  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / makeup question on: August 05, 2004 07:08:39 AM
