11  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Re: Help Please! Japanese/Asian Beaded mascots - Cellphone charms on: February 11, 2007 06:10:49 PM
Oh.. I'd love your opinion....
I will try my best at explaining...
The only pattern I've tried was the turtle that I posted a tut for.
When I'm working the RAW (weave)shown in the first step, I felt like I was threading the beads right. But the shape of the patch of beads I wove looked nothing like a square, I tried to pull the thread tighter but to no avail. Humph Undecided When I tried to move on despite the shape of the first too so called squares which would act as the top and bottom of my turtle, I would get confused on which beads I should thread. So to make all that short... The first step after I was done weaving looked nothing like the tut and I couldn't move past that point.

Sorry this post took so long to post... lost my web connection for a bit...

OKay.. I found a site for the Japanese, Kawaii style 3D beaded mascots.... whew... that was long.... (in english no doubt)
Here's the thing.. I've been trying to make it and I haven't been too sucessful.. I'm so ashamed Embarrassed, this is posted as a kids craft. If anyone trys to make it can they post the pics of process.?. I totally get the instructions and diagrams... But my fingers aren't listening.. I'm going to try again with a diffrent bead and not the crystals becasue I can't seem to tighten the weave to well... http://www.beadjewelrymaking.com/Kid_Art_Project/Kid_art_bead_project/may2006kid_bead_project.html

How funny, I've been searching online for two days now for the same thing. 3D beaded mascots (tutorials) in English...
in the process I found a book in Amazon called "World of Beads" the book is in English but the 3D critters are made out of seed beads and not as cute as the crystal kawaii style ones. that bit of info is based on the cover cuz thats all I got to see.. hehe.. I'm a very very beginner beader but my fingers are itchin to start making my future obsession.
