42  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / My First Try at Mittens. Has anyone ever made smittens? on: March 24, 2007 09:12:29 AM
This was my first try at mittens they came out kind of large and weird but I still wear them.  It was also my first attempt at following a pattern to crochet.  All in all I think they are not so bad.

After making these I made a few more that came out better.  I made some friends smittens.  I'll try to post a better picture.  This is all I have for now.

This is the picture I used to make the smittens.

Couples can hold hands in the joint mitten.  Has anyone ever made these?  I would love to see other variations.
43  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / I-Pod case with green kitty button on: March 24, 2007 08:59:49 AM
I made this I-pod case for my nano but it turned out too big.  It conveniently fits my partner's I-pod Mini. I love this kitty button.

It has a handy pocket for earphones in the back.

It's a nice winter outfit for an i-pod.

44  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Hats I made last winter... on: March 24, 2007 08:49:54 AM
I tried my hand at making hats last winter.  I made these freehand when I was learning to crochet but they came out pretty well I think.

This purple one is the first hat I ever made.  It's a little pointier than I wanted.

I think the green one looks better.  I made this a few weeks later.
45  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Funky Headbands/Earmuffs on: March 24, 2007 08:43:12 AM
This is my first post although I love this website and check out everyone's project constantly.

This is a funky little headband I made for my blob-faced friend.  When my friend came to New York City, we met a woman who had purchased a similar headband/earmuffs in a chic boutique in Soho.  Let me know what you think.  It was a pretty quick project.  I had never made a flower before.  It was pretty fun.

Word got out that I could make these so I'm making a few more for friends.  I made this pink and grey one for myself.  They are a quick, easy and fun gift.  I completed both of these in a few hours one night.

Here is a close-up on the flower:

This it how it looks spread out:
