You guys, I've been blessed with lots and lots of lovely beads, wire, tools, buttons, chain, findings... and yet I'm completely uninspired. Honestly. I've tried browsing etsy, craftster, google, and online bead stores for project inspiration but I just can't get inspired! I don't know what's wrong with me! I've included a picture of (most of) my stash so maybe someone can help me get out of this slump.
Also, I just bought some MORE beads, nylon thread, cameos, and headpins at artbeads.com. Heh heh...
Let's face it. It's a trainwreck. I bought it at Macys years ago and it's just overall NOT flattering. I really want to fix it though... any suggestions on how to reconstruct this dress into something a little more becoming?
PS excuse the mean looking face and adorable little brother haha
well, uhm. I made this a few months ago, but never got around to posting it. I mean, I sewed the letters and anchor on to the plain boring sweatshirt. It's unfortunate that I don't have any pictures of myself in it. Or at all, really. See, I made it to bring to camp. And when I did, we just ended up trading jackets all week. And these two guys were kind of obsessed with it. And one had it for three days, and I was stuck with his. Anyways, not really incredible detail shots. But here we go.
So yesterday I had a very important show to go to. my friend corees band was performing, which is a huge deal because they NEVER perform, even though the whole city LOVES them. so I finally get to see them play, and I realize that morning that I have nothing to wear. so I dip into my fabric stash and make this. my first time making something without a pattern, and you can tell. there are some obvious mistakes that could have been eaisily avoided, but whatever. I like it. here we goooo.
that song kind of goes through my head when I look at this. if you don't know what song it is, it's the song on the M&M commercials. I was overjoyed when they first put it on those commercials, haha.
anyways, I have this semi-important project due tomorrow that I hadn't even thought of what to do for it so what do I do? I take my halloween costume and turn it into a strapless tunic type thing, of course! So I made myself a strapless tunic type thing, took pictures, and then started on my project, which is now done. By the way, it's all handsewn due to lack of sewing machine.
BEFORE(this is actually from halloween)
(by the way, i meant for the hemming to be all messy, I'll explain after I finish putting the pictures it)
alright, so the reason I wanted the hemming to be like this. Me: Mom, look I made a short. Mom: Oh, I'm so proud of you! Me: yeah, too bad the hem is kind of messy. it'd be so much better looking if I had a sewing machine. mom: good point, beautiful darling daughter of mine! let's go get you one right now!
anyways, that's all. comment if you like, I'd lvoe to know what you think of it. love leah.
oh goodness, today is a day of firsts. so I have this weird teacher who assigned a book report but it had to be in scrapbook for. WHOA THERE PARTNER! it was a little shocking. so I went to the scrapbook store and a nice lady helped me make the book part. and then I went home and decorated the life out of it. here are a few select pages. [by the way, the main charater is named libby]
well, there you have it. CC appreciated, and as soon as it gets graded I'll tell you what I got.
haha. I also posted my first clothing experience ever and am gonig topost my first scrapbook experience ever, too. alright, well this is a bit of the stuff I made before I found out about anything polymer clayish, except that lollipop tutorial.
experimenting which dinosaur making technique is better. as you can see, the one with the spikes split in half right before the picture.
a purse I made to put in my scrapbook.
some more lollis.
I was almost sure there were more, but i can't find them in my photobucket. but, uh, not bad for my first time, right? [heres your cue to say yes]. CC is a pretty chill thnig to do.
I lied, its actually not. I'm sewing a shirt aith my aunt using her machine but I haven't worked on it for a few weeks and its less then halfway done. but this was my first time resizing and donig it by hand. oh boy, that was tough. but I did it and really happy about the results.
alright, well, I started with this old nightie of my mothers.
I liked the sailorish bit at the back and I thought that it'd be cute if I just made it fit my form. so two and a half hours later...
yeah, too bad I don't have an iron. that little pink lump is supposed to be a bow.
anyways, I've learned a few things. 1] how to thread a needle 2] what scissors to use for cutting fabric. heh heh. thats why it took 2 and a half instead of 1 and a half. 3] to get pins
well, there you have it. my first clothnig reconstruction. thanks for viewing, I'm now taking CC donations.
So I recently started becoming obsessed with making clothing and jewelry. but so far I don't have a sewing machine and I have to borrow my aunts to make anything. so what do i do? I USE MY HUGEMONGOUS COLLECTION OF BEADING SUPPLIES! and I'm serious, folks, it is very large. I haven't made much so far but here's what I have.
The Giraffe Necklace #1
Harry potter necklace
