1  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Baby Shoes with Sharks and Buttons on: December 23, 2011 05:06:29 PM

Wool felt baby shoes with embroidered sharks, 'cause Mom likes the S.J. Sharks and mother of pearl buttons, 'cause Dad loves to dive for abalone.  Love the Purl Bee's baby shoe pattern!
2  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Chocolate Baby Shoes with Cookie Buckles on: December 23, 2011 04:56:48 PM

These are wool felt baby shoes with wool butter cookie buckles.  I used the pattern from the Purl Bee.

3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Twin Lens Reflex Camera Bag on: April 08, 2011 07:51:58 PM

I sewed two wool felt bags that are supposed to look like those old Brownie box cameras.  The smaller bag is for my cell phone and keys.  The larger bag can hold a water bottle.  The silver areas are either felt or ironing board cover fabric.  A Japanese company called Motif makes these.  They're much cuter than mine.  (Yes, my embroidery skills are crap.)  I just can't afford one right now.  My son thinks I should add more buttons and a hand crank on the side.
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Leafy Lace Edging Scarf (x2) on: January 06, 2010 07:43:27 PM
This pattern was published by the Nonotuck Silk Company in 1886 and was intended to be knit out of silk thread.  I used Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Dk.
I found the pattern on the Vintageknits website.  This is very simple lace pattern suitable for a first-time lace knitter.

5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Thanksgiving / T-day Napkins (Nothing Special, Just Pretty Fabric) on: November 26, 2009 11:28:28 AM
Woke up this morning obsessed with sewing Thanksgiving napkins.  I used fabrics that are reproductions of textiles popular in the southern U.S. at about the time of the Civil War.  They're super easy to make-- just a hemmed 22" square with mitred corners.  Happy T-day!
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Inauguration Necklace on: January 18, 2009 10:42:58 AM
Here's a necklace I made for the inauguration.  (It's my first necklace.)  Whoa, it's super dangerous to venture into a bead store.
I looked everywhere for a tiny pic of Obama.  Finally found one in Black Hair magazine.  Attached it to the frame with Diamond Glaze.

7  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Fabric Beach Balls on: December 28, 2008 07:27:20 PM
These are fabric beach balls I made using a tutorial from The Purl Bee, a fabbo website.
I haven't decided whether I'll add the little circles at the poles.  I'm going to make one for
each of my twenty first grade students, to take the sting out of coming back to school after
two weeks of glorious vacation.  The beach balls will be on their desks when they enter the
classroom.

8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / I Raised $450 for my Candidate! on: October 08, 2008 05:37:24 AM
I spent two days sewing water bottle bags, simple, lined purses with a long strap to hold a water bottle and keys, to raise money for my presidential candidate.  I sold them for a $20 donation each.  Many people were eager to donate a twenty, providing that they didn't have to give out personal info.  It was such an easy fundraiser.  Beats having a bake sale.  I called it my "Craft-orama."  My preserves-making sister might have a "Jam-orama."

9  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Needle Felted Dog on: January 03, 2008 09:54:46 PM
Okay, this is my first needle felted project.  The dog, some kind of bearded collie/lab/poodle mix,
looks kinda wonky, but was sooo much fun to make!  Needle felting feels like sculpting with fiber.

Sorry for the crappy photo.
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Cheery Marley's Ghost! A Quick Knit (Photo added) on: December 24, 2007 09:03:00 AM
I knitted the Marley's Ghost felted chain by the designer Alison Gates.  The pattern can be found here:http://knitty.com/ISSUEwinter05/PATTmarleysghost.html
Instead of a long chain, I knit it as a twenty link necklace.  It took me about four hours to make. The colors are not neon, but rather jewel tone.
