1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: Halloween "Cute" on: November 05, 2005 10:12:50 AM
Hahaha, not fencer, but a modern dancer.

I had an old corset, and bought a bunch of stuffed animalls from thrift stores, trying to find a head with the right bust fit w/out being obvious, hehe.
I cut them off, kept some of the stuffing in the head so they wouldn't wilt too much, and collaged them on with a glue gun.
The headless bodies around my place was very creepy, hehe.

I'm now thinking of a series of corset animal, dolls etc.....

I also found a pretty purple sparkly sweater for the leg warmers. I want to wear them everywhere now!

Thanx for the feedback guys, I'll be posting numerous other projects more often.

This is my first post, and I have been sewing and creating for some time now! I don't have a digital, so it makes it harder.
Some people dress as "Death" I decided to do "Cute" obnoxiously cute, I should have handed out vomit bags, but, here ya go! There are lots of other great pics of crafty friends on there too.  Enjoy!

Hey! Sorry gone for so long, just closed a show, and have been busy.

Heres some fun news you crafty Houston divas!

Are you familiar with the houston chronicle style/shop girl? My friend and I have had this idea for a while to do a thrift/sew/craft challenge with the chronicle shop girl. She met her rep today at work and pitched the idea, and I think they are going to launch it!
Who wants in!!!!
This could be a regular column, wooohooooo!

I'm making an asymmetrical skirt and want to put a shiny red satin lining underneath, it will look awesome to walk and see it peek out. I'm dealing with Satin and don't know the best way to sew it underneath.
Any suggestions before I begin?

Olivia and all the guys over there are into a big sewing circle/swap craft day, I only brought up the idea to them, but never wanted to promise anything until I felt we could supply the numbers of people willing to participate.
This site is excellent for the herding of craftsters! I didn't think there were that many crafty people in H-town til now!
Lets make it happen!!!!!

There are a lot of theaters here that would donate space, also Super Happy Fun Land is a great spot for crafts or a swap, they already have silk screen workshops on Sundays.
