I love all things mini and have been working on mini canvases lately.
The panda is done on a 3 inch canvas and the doll is done on a 2 inch canvas.
Both done in acrylic paints.

Our cat, Buggle, is very interested in playing with a doll I made for my husband (Mark) awhile back.

Since he isn't allowed to play with the "Mark doll", I thought I'd make him his own doll.

I think it turned out really cute, but unfortunately Buggle is absolutely terrified of it.

I have to keep the doll shut up in my room because Buggle walks around on the verge of a panic attack if it's out where he can see it.

The doll is made of cotton fabric which I painted with acrylic paints and finished with varnish.

I just love "I Spy" books and wanted to make an "I Spy" pic myself.

This is a first (and very quick attempt).

I spy a balloon with no air
and four little chairs.

I spy three unlit candles
and something with handles.

I thought it would be fun to leave an anonymous gift for the kids that live a few doors down from us.

I made a little fabric sack and inside I put a little treat bag filled with stickers and other small Halloween treats. I also made each of them a small stuffed monster toy.

I tied the sack up with a ribbon and on the tag I wrote that it was from "The Great Pumpkin".

We recently moved and our new landlord asked if we wanted her old patio set.  At "free", the price was just right-only it was pretty shabby looking.  The finish was nearly all gone and the cushions were faded and stained.



I painted the table and chairs black and made a quick slipcover from some fabric I already had.  The makeover cost me $8 (for the quart of paint).

I've been using the cardboard from cereal boxes to make covers for little journals/sketchbooks.

I think it would be an awesome project for kids (even if you had to sew the pages in and just let them decorate).

I paint the outside "cover" a solid color and then draw/paint/collage/whatever to decorate the front.   (The sea life book is my personal favorite)

It's a fun, quick, easy, satisfying project that makes me feel like a little kid.

I bought this dollhouse at the flea market for $3.
It was white with a light pink roof and was all dirty and not very pretty.

I painted it with lots of colors and decorated it to look really fun and happy.  I made the two dolls that "live" in this house and some of the furnishings and accessories.

I made a teensy tiny peg doll that fits onto a fingertip!

I made her by cutting down a matchstick and painting.

I made these ornaments from salt dough.  I remember making salt dough ornaments when I was a kid.  They are super easy to make.  I used a recipe from a vintage craft book, but I"m sure you could google and find the recipe as well.  Just roll it out (or if you are like me and have no rolling pin, you just mush it down as much as you can) and cut out shapes with cookie cutters.  I added a hole before baking and strung wire and pony beads on after painting. 

I have a "Christmas" tree in my craft room (not a real "Christmas" tree as it's a year round tree and not meant for a holiday).  I think the ornaments look fun and colorful on my pink tree.

I don't know if it's because Easter is coming up or what...but I am TOTALLY in love with bunnies at the moment.

I made some tiny bunnies from polymer clay.
One  project is a mini diorama in a matchbox.
The other project is a panoramic Easter egg style diorama/ornament. (The ornament I made from a paper mache style egg I bought at the craft store).
