31  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Mr. Fancypants (with tutorial in blog) on: April 27, 2010 06:42:10 AM
Hey Everyone! I just finished a pastel piece and I thought I would post it here. Yes, the kitty's name is Mr. Fancypants! I love the name! It's 8x10 on Velour paper. I'm really proud of it! It's been a while since I've been commissioned to draw a kitty! I also started a blog and I posted a tutorial in there with some pastel tips. http://ericavojnich.blogspot.com/2010/04/mr-fancypants-portrait-with-tutorial.html Comments and Questions are always appreciated!  Kiss

My husband and I want to get into Gardening. We're total newbies at this and it would be cool to get some Craftster advice!  Grin

Thanks so much everyone! It means so much to me. I don't mind donating my time if it's for a worthwhile cause. It's really clear they use every cent they receive wisely. I'm sure a lot of people donate, so giving away tickets probably can't happen.  Undecided It's ok though, I'm sure someone will let me know if it's successful there! I'm going to make prints of this piece, so I'll be ok with parting with it.

Thank you, I really liked her eyes too.

I'm not too sure how long it took, but I know that I was working on it for roughly 2 weeks. I'm sure it was about 20 hours.

Thank you so much! They asked me close to the deadline, so I asked if they could give me an extension so I'm hoping that they will. Otherwise I'll save it for them next year. I'm looking at this piece as their property. It's going to be hard parting with it, because it was such a labor of love for me!

So I locked myself away from the public from a while so I could finish this. I was asked to create a piece for the National Zoo's annual event Zoofari. Hopefully it will be placed in their silent auction. I'm really excited about it because it's a pretty big deal and I was a nervous wreck about it. So I finally finished it. The mother is Mandara and the baby is Kibibi. It's 11"x14" in colored pencil. I can't believe I finished it. I'm so exhausted but I think it was worth it! I think I'm going to title it "Looking Forward."
