2  about 100 "gold" id bracelets in What the heck can I do with THIS? by divadiver on: September 02, 2007 05:29:37 PM
I got a TON of cheap (like the stuff you would find in quarter machines) ID bracelets.  There are about 100 I'd guess.  They look kindof like the pic below but are thinner "gold" (obviously plated with something and very cheap metal inside - and the clasp is bendable)

These are way too cheap to give as "bracelets" to friends/family, but I'd like to DO something with them.

I dont have an engraving tool, but I've seen the tools where you can press images/letters into metal.  I think I've seen that at the scrapbook dept of places like walmart??

Anyhow.... we're looking for some unique & creative ideas to use these!!  I am totally willing to dismantle them, but dont think i could melt them down or anything...

We have thought of maybe using them as "tags" to put around wine bottle necks and then either write or "press" a message into them like "happy holidays" or "happy birthday" - etc..... but obviously we arent going to get or give 100 bottles of wine :p

Any ideas???  THanks!

3  over 150 photo keychains (need some creative ideas!) in What the heck can I do with THIS? by divadiver on: September 02, 2007 05:16:35 PM
They look a lot like THIS:

Basically you can put a photo inside them.  There are varying sizes - but most are about 2x3"  - a couple are smaller.

We have come up with:

~Luggage Tags
~Key Chains

Not too creative.

I know there have GOT to be so many fun things we can do with these.... any ideas?

4  Inside-out Monkey :) in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by divadiver on: July 13, 2007 12:48:41 PM
So - I was totally inspired by Kent Rogowski ( http://www.kentrogowski.com/ ), and after a friend expressed her love for the inside-out cuddlies, I decided to do one for her out of her favorite animal (monkey) for her desk at work.  As I was at the Dollar Tree yesterday I spotted this little guy (originally a gift-card holder), and snagged him up.

I had a LOT of fun doing surgery on Mr. Monkey.  Poor little man wasnt so sure that he was in good hands at this point.

I think he looks really pathetic and cute and lovable Smiley My friend LOOOOVES him.

Thanks for peeking!

on the pink shirt, i took a size 5T girls skirt (for my 3T little girl) and took the ties from the front of the skirt and made them into straps.

6  Japanese Art supply cases (burned and inked!!) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by divadiver on: July 11, 2007 11:47:59 PM
This is probably the best place to put this LOL... couldnt find another forum that fit it better.  You can carry these like a suitcase... so I guess it counts as "bags" lol

These are two of the gifts my brother is getting for his birthday.  They are cases that I got at hobby lobby and wood burned (and in the first one, painted with ink too) and then aged to give to him.  They are authentic Japanese dragon designs, that I freehanded on the cases from tattoos I found on google.  He is really into authentic Japanese art, and inside each of the cases are high-quality Japanese art-supplies, like high-quality inks, markers, sketch pens, a sketchbook, parchment paper (for ink painting), etc. Lots of goodies. Smiley

This first case is about 18"x24" (i didnt measure - that's a guess)

This second case is about 12"x18" (again didnt measure)
