1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Halley's Comet Hat on: April 13, 2008 01:36:08 PM
That was my question, too!  Target?  Yarn?  If it were true I would be quite happy! :-D

I love the colors.  Hrm..I have a free evening tonight.  Perchance I shall knit one of my own...

I've looked at this pattern a few times, and haven't ever really liked it...until I saw yours!  It's beautiful!  I might have to rethink this pattern!  Lovely.  Simply lovely.

I've never really been a fan of this sweater...until I saw both of yours!  They're beautiful.  And the two of you are beautiful.  I dunno, for some reason, this post just makes me insanely happy!

Surely! Smiley  I'll go with the Raindrop Hat.  Thanks!

OMG. Your hats are great.  You should be really proudl. I want to do some stranded knitting someday but it looks so difficult.

It's really not that bad...it just takes a little patience!  For me, the hardest part is keeping everything coordinated.  Juggling five dpns and two balls of yarn takes a little coordination, (I tend to drop a ball of yarn on the floor pretty frequently, which results in me looking silly as I try to chase after it without dropping any stitches!), but as for the knitting itself, it's not nearly as hard as I thought it would be.

Three hats I've been working on for Christmas presents.

Raindrop Hat

Northern Lights Hat

Tidal Wave Hat

All three:

I based the structure of the hats loosely on the Winter Sunrise Hat by Elinor Brown, but used a variety of stitch patterns, some that I found online, some that I made up on my own.  I have to say, these hats are quite addictive.  I can't want to start another!

Thanks again for all the nice comments!  I promise that I'm still going to post the pattern - things have just been a bit crazy at work and I haven't gotten time to finish writing it all out.  Soon, I promise!

Thanks everybody!  I'll work on writing up a pattern of some sort - it's a pretty straightforward knit, and I had great luck with it as a first colorwork project.  Check back in a day or so and I should have something up.  Smiley
