1  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Discussion and Questions / Amigurumi Fraggles? on: September 20, 2007 09:19:49 AM
I've hunted through Craftster pretty thoroughly in the hopes of finding some brilliant soul who's attempted an amigurumi Fraggle Rock character. Anyone know of a pattern for one or perhaps know of a pattern that could be altered slightly to make a Fraggle?
2  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Re: I think I hate drop spindles on: April 14, 2007 08:55:59 PM
I feel your pain. Just bought a drop spindle a week ago and can't even get to the point where I can use it. Still trying to get something to work by rolling the yarn against my leg. Nothing I spin sticks together!
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: The Ugliest Socks In My Sock Drawer on: April 14, 2007 01:26:54 PM
Now, that second shot of you is the shot of a TRUE knitter.

"Screw the dang Grand Canyon. I'm going to KNIT! View be damned!"  Cheesy
4  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: big peices of drift wood!?? on: April 14, 2007 08:11:48 AM
What you do is put that bad boy in your garden while you brainstorm, watch your cat goes frickin' nuts on it (SMELLS LIKE NEAT-O!) and shred the thing into slivers, then just leave it out there for years because it's now ruined and covered in clumps of animal fur.

*sighs and frowns at giant driftwood in yard*

Good luck!  Grin
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Where do you get your band T-Shirts? on: April 14, 2007 08:05:26 AM
I buy them at the shows, typically. They're never super cheap but I like the idea that I'm supporting a local or label-less group and I don't buy CDs (my boyfriend does and I simply steal them). I only cut them up when the band offers just the boxy, men's-style tees. I like mine a little more fitted!
6  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Knitty's Danica on: March 20, 2007 08:54:33 AM
Oooooh, I love the way those colours pop off the black! Nice work!
7  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: Raku Bowl on: March 19, 2007 06:19:35 PM
It doesn't matter how many quarters I took of throwing class in college...I LOVE coil-built pieces!
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Airlines are dumb! - Knitting annoyance! on: March 19, 2007 02:03:30 PM
How strange, I've been on flights all over the world and no one's blinked an eye at my knitting needles or crochet hooks (I even take sock dpns on board). You can always bring your hook and a self addressed stamped envelope. If they insist you can't take the hook on, toss it in an envelope and they'll send it back to your house. At SeaTac (Seattle, WA) they have kiosks in which you can toss your envelope  and it'll get sent back to you.

I would like to have joined as well but next week is crammed full of final exams AND I have to move this weekend. Bleh.  Tongue
I'll try to go next time. I need more glass beads for earrings.
10  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Re: Crafty ideas for kitty acne/dry paws problems? on: March 15, 2007 07:27:50 AM
I'm with merope on the essential oil thing. I wouldn't use any of 'em, nor would I use baby oil since it is basically mineral oil, on a pet. Essential oils can do very, very bad things to an animal, even the "safe" ones. Hell, if I so much as open a bottle in a room where my cat is, the chemicals burn her eyes so badly she hides under the bed for the rest of the day. I could never subject her to having that stuff on her skin.
I would just rub a little olive oil into kitty's paws. That's not only safe but very beneficial in that it'll make their fur shiny and ease their digestive systems.
